ICFAI University B.Tech Review By Ravi Pandey

ICFAI University Dehradun is a good institute in so many aspects. As you might listen about private universities, I found it different. It provides so many facilities to students that have helped them grow. I am a B.Tech student here. I took admission here because I have heard a lot about it as I am from Haridwar, so many people from Haridwar take admission there. In my class 12th, I gave JEE exam but didn’t get any seat in Government College, so I joined here. The admission process is very straightforward and quick here. In initial days of my joining here college management guided me well.

I joined the B.Tech course hereafter my completing my schooling at CBSE school in Haridwar. You don’t have to give any entrance exam here to take admission. The reason I joined engineering undergrad is I had a great interest in coding. I heard that good company come here during placements, so I joined here to learn to code and also get placed in a somewhere good place. There are 60 students in my class. Currently, the classes are going in online mode. Our branch is not missing very much because most of our work practical approach is dealt in software only. The syllabus that has been given to us is also very well structured so the academic part here is good.

For our course we have currently got tutored from around 7 professors in multiple subjects. There will be more professors as we move along with our syllabus. Most of the teachers here are from IIT which is a very good thing. They also have years of experience in teaching at college. In our starting days of college, like every other college and course our professors introduced themselves to us. Our professors are friendly and some of them have even maintained a good engagement in online classes too. After attending any class from our professors, I haven’t found it to go to any other source, as they are enough.

Our placements will be happening next year. This year companies will be approaching our college for internships. Even being a third-year student, we will be getting a chance to sit on many placements round. If any student performs well in these rounds, they can get a pre-placement. Pre-placement is equivalent to placement only but you have to join the company after your degree program is completed. Codestore and Accenture are among those companies which generally prefer our college. You can see these companies names along with our college frequent enough.

Many students even many from my classmates didn’t apply for hostels, as they are little bit expensive. I applied for hostel during the counseling process that is during admission and I found it worth it the price. There are many facilities you get in these hostels, like washing clothes, guards and regular sanitisation. There is proper discipline maintained among the hostel workers and the mess. Food quality is good. In these hostels there is also a facility to apply for the type of hostel you like. You can choose how many roommates you want.

ICFAI always had a great infrastructure. Our campus is very photogenic. Although these days, we are unable to visit and study in an offline mode. Classrooms had fast internet connected smart classes. Most of the classes were being conducted in smart class mode also which is good way of education. There are large playgrounds which has so many sports. I didn’t go for playing sports but has been a part of many sport programs volunteering and working. Our hostel was very near to our college, around 100 meters which was a fair distance. Also our hostel had medical facilities and there were other medical facilities in our campus too.

There are societies like other colleges in our college also. Being a part of any society is a good thing and one must do it too. I was a part of a cultural society which had helped me in developing my communication skills and team work skills. We used to gather in auditoriums but now most of the things are happening in online mode.
