Keshav Mahavidyalaya B.Com Review By Arshita Dhamija

When I first took admission in Keshav Mahavidyalaya, I wasn't expecting much as it was an off campus college of Delhi University. The campus was beautiful and has a welcoming atmosphere. The campus was green and had an aesthetically pleasing and vibrant environment. The faculty welcomed us with great enthusiasm which made the whole orientation experience great for me. Initially, I chose Keshav Mahavidyalaya as it is considered one of the best colleges for BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies) in DU (University of Delhi). But the overall experience till now turned out to be more exhilarating than only the studies. It is an all round college for studies, extracurricular, placements as well as fests, accounting for a complete university experience for a student which everyone seeks for. So, similarly even if you are looking for a solid college in the stream of business like BMS, this college should definitely be on your list at the top. I am currently looking forward to my time here and definitely recommend it to everyone.

Keshav Mahavidyalaya (KMV) offers various courses like B.Com Honors, BMS, Psychology Honors, Computer Science Honors and more courses. They even have certificate courses in foreign languages like French and German and you can get admitted into this college through a formal examination called CUET UG exam conducted by NTA. Getting a decent score around 600-700 should be minimum for getting through the admission process. I am currently pursing BMS- Bachelor of Management Studies as I am from Commerce background and the academic structure provided by this college is pretty robust. Each semester allows in depth understanding of business in depth. The curriculum has regular lectures by professors, guest lectures, case studies, robust curriculum and practical exposure to business students. I got hold on theoretical concepts better and prepared well for future. The course content is up to date in line with the latest trends of the job markets giving practical experience to students and make them job ready.

The faculty is top notch. All the members including professors and advisors are well qualified for their position of responsibility having completed their masters and Ph.D degrees inspiring the students to work hard. The professors and even the other members of the faculty on campus are always ready for help and are approachable to students during any time and even exam season. Whether it’s a query from our syllabus or seeking help for placements and internships, anything even beyond studies, they are always ready to help students. For BMS, diverse range of subjects like Finance, HR, Marketing, and Accounting, these are all taught by expert professors and faculty staff in that field from years. The case discussions are really helpful for practically understanding the various business concepts and get a robust understanding of them. Overall the faculty is highly qualified, skilled and approachable so students can be confident to ask for help and assistance anytime for our academic and professional growth. There are various BMS professors who have specific field experience academically and also professionally. They bring in real world examples into the classrooms from their real life experiences to help us understand concepts better. Professors often give us insights into the financial sector field, helping us identify our interests into the different areas of business.

There is a specific placement cell at Keshav Mahavidyalaya which aims to help students in getting relevant internships and work in companies where they have their alumni network. They help students in CV making, cover letter drafting as well as job search and interview strategies which are relevant for all business students to pave their path into the field of business. Last year the highest package was around 20lakhs which is quite inspiring and impressive. Companies like AT Kearney, S&P Global and De Shaw along which many other show up for the final on campus placements along with offering relevant internships in the marketing/ finance/ business internships into the industry. They prepare us well for the real world, making it easier for us to navigate our careers in the future. Monthly workshops on interview skills, what employers look for, building CV and specific resume, all these practices by the KMV cell helps students to be ready for the placement season. Networking sessions are a great help for securing internships by interacting in real time with employers and alumni's to discuss any available opportunities.

The college has hostel facilities but only for girls. The hostels are clean with all the basic amenities included like Wifi, reading room balcony and more. These amenities along with a comfortable living experience with classmates, allows for all round and holistic development of an individual student. The hostel also includes amenities like refrigerator, microwave and kitchen facilities which make it really convenient to live for students and cook there as well. The environment is really safe with guards outside and really encourages a studious environment. Regular maintenance and cleaning make sure that the studies of students are not interrupted and they get a clean and supportive environment to support their academic growth.

The campus area of Keshav Mahavidyalaya has separate areas for academics, administration as well as sports. The library has all types of books and huge collection of novels as well. The college also has basketball courts and a separate area for sports. There is also an auditorium for cultural events and competitions. All these facilities are well maintained, making the college a great place to study as well as participate in extracurricular activities. The classrooms are pretty spacious and have a moderate seating capacity to accommodate all students.

Despite being an off-campus college at Delhi University, Keshav Mahavidyalaya has a vibrant campus and supportive community. Our annual fest Trynt is a major highlight of the campus life to wrap up an academic year. It’s a dynamic environment on campus where students can thrive both academically and socially by building meaningful connections with new minds and strengthen their friendships.
