Jorhat Engineering College Honest Review

Overall Rating
When talking about the overall experience, I must say that I had never expected that an engineering college in Assam except IITG could provide us this high level of education. It’s my 2nd year in this college now and is really happy that I got a chance to do my higher studies in such a prestigious institute within my home state. I hope my review could help others to know about the college better.
 

Academics Rating
So basically my course is Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and the branch I have chosen is Civil Engineering in JEC. So in this college we can do other courses also like BE B.Tech, MCA as well as M.Tech. So I am talking about just B.Tech as am personally involved in this course. A student has to clear the ASSAM CEE exam with good ranks to get admission in this college.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is the best part of this college. Their teaching style, their ego, their attachment with students all are a lot different from what we have experienced in the 11-12th standards. All the faculties are mostly NIT or IIT graduate and most suitable to teach. Their teaching environment is really something else. As I am studying in this college, from my experience with the faculty I can definitely say that there is no need for YouTube help if we study properly from the faculty.
 

Placement Rating
Yeah we have a Training and Placement cell in the Jorhat Engineering College. It is managed by our respected Head of the department of Computer Science and Engineering department. Before getting admission in the college I saw lots of news of the students getting placements from the cell and now when I am here in the college I watch them happen with my eyes. This year also lots of our seniors got placed through the On-campus interviews. And I hope that we will also get placed the same way. There come a lot of companies and they filter the best students suitable for their jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes of course. This college has a total of 10 hostels and also includes guest house for the parents to stay if they come to visit their child. I am staying at the hostel and I have to say hostel life is the best. We get lots of experience by staying with batch mates, juniors and seniors and all are skilled at their own fields. The facilities and infrastructure are really good. I have no complaints staying at the hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has a nice infrastructure. It contains two main buildings for classes and those are really huge. It contains a central library and a good environment to study. There is a park also for relaxation. I must say the overall infrastructure of JEC is far better than the other private or government institutions in Assam.
 

Campus Rating
Yeah the campus life will be the same as you are expecting. The environment is really good not to study only, there happens great programs to chill and also we have lots of clubs to learn something new and improve our skills. And talking about the tech fest of JEC is PHOENIX and the first word that comes to my mind is wow. You should experience this at least once in your life.

    My experience in Jorhat Engineering College till now is pretty good. There is a good environment in the college. Each department has qualified professors who guide us for our future. Although I won't say that this is the best engineering college in Assam but it is pretty good. The infrastructure is good. The hostels are nice. And the auditorium of the college is very good.     To summarize this college, all I can say is that, it is one of the most reputed colleges situated in Jorhat, Assam. I enrolled in J.E.C. in 2023 and I think it was the right choice for me. In 2023 J.E.C. was ranked 66 among 170 colleges in India, which was ranked as the 2nd best engineering college in the IIRF ranking in Assam after IIT Guwahati.     Jorhat Engineering College is best for its beautiful campus. Campus has a beautiful lake in front of the college administrative building with facilities of chairs around the lake. We can sit in those chairs and relax a little bit. Besides we have a very auditorium called Arnab Kishore Bordoli auditorium funded by Oil India Limited.     In my personal opinion, which may differs from other I would suggest you to join in Jorhat Engineering College. This has been the top state Engineering College in Assam for significant period of time. The college has good reputation for providing good academics and placement in every year.
