There has always been a conflict between north and south campus of Delhi University. Most of us have an inner instinct of choosing north campus of course because those red bricked walls, air conditioned rooms, better placements and what not. But we don't always land up in life where we want to and I think sometimes that leads us to a better passage. So it was first day of college and I was kind of lost in the campus and after few days I got to know the campus is not even that big but the exposure is. Being in 3rd year I've almost explored all the societies and have participated in multiple debates and play competitions. Societies can truly help you in building confidence. Talking about academics, so all the rooms are not air conditioned but are well built and also teachers are supportive most of the times (exceptions are always there). Canteen food is average. Placements here are average and also the college has recently got NIRF ranking of 17.

I am pursuing B.Sc Physical Sciences. Apart from theory class, chemistry labs are well ventilated, all the required apparatus are available here and lab staff is also supportive. Physics labs are also well spaced but some apparatus definitely needs replacement. This course includes wholesome combination of Physics, Chemistry and Math. But I would suggest choosing honors courses over program.

There are different types of teachers in every college and I've seen that there's always a teacher in a semester who completes a unit in just 2 classes but other than few exceptions rest are optimal in teaching with good experience. They are always available to take our doubts and helping us in all forms that they can that is through notes, PDFs and lectures. Also teachers are actively a part of societies and they encourage students as well to do so.

Deshbandhu College is definitely known for one of the best library in south campus which is fully air conditioned, Wi-Fi enabled and well organised. Lecture theatres are well spaced with monitor screens. Our college has lot of achievements in NCC also there's space for sports like volleyball court, table tennis, archery and badminton. Cafeteria ground is the best place to spend our spare time.

One-third of our campus population is Haryana based. Crowd is good in terms of number and people as well. There is variety of people everywhere so it depends on you who you chose to hang out with. Once new semester starts there're fests going on in auditorium of different societies and departments. They organise different competitions and seminars so yeah it offers good exposure. There's Diwali fest in which Audaz (fashion society) specifically outperform each year and then our annual fest (Sarang) in which there are competitions and performances by different societies. Trips are also organized quarterly for students. In addition to this, societies also visit colleges based out of Delhi for competitions.
