Deshbandhu College Campus is vibrant as students come from entire India

I got admission in Deshbandhu College by the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) of Delhi University. As it's not among the mainstream colleges of DU, so I was doubtful about it. But when I went to this college on the very first day I was relieved as this is one of the best colleges I've ever visited to. As I've completed my first year in this college it is not wrong to say that this college has a lot of potential. This college has many diverse students, so many opportunities and a top notch faculty.

The academics of this college are its main attraction. Deshbandhu College has 27 departments with experienced, knowledgeable and helpful teachers. If I talk particularly about my course, it has one of the best History departments in Delhi University. The revised syllabus is more relevant to the present times. The curriculum is student friendly and engaging. The eligibility to take admission in Deshbandhu College is to pass 12th standard.

As I have mentioned earlier, the faculty of this college is very good particularly the History department. Many professors are Ph.D holders and the rest of them are postgraduates in their respective field. They have a very unique way of teaching which is very interactive. Teachers discuss the topics so that the students can understand it more easily.

The infrastructure of this college is its disadvantage. One of the major reasons for this is the partition and establishment of the separate college which took almost half of its area, making the campus smaller. But this college still has 4 academic blocks, an admin block and a laboratory block. The college has a fully fledged library which has 8000+ books and journals. There is an auditorium, conference hall, multipurpose hall and 2 seminar halls. This college has a canteen and a cafeteria as well which serves delicious food. There is a volleyball ground, archery ground, kabaddi ground and NCC ground for sports and extracurricular activities. Wi-Fi facilities are also available.

Deshbandhu College has very diverse students, from all over India. There are very brilliant and have creative minds. Feel free to talk to them. This college has its annual fest named ‘Sabrang’. Many renowned artists have performed in this fest like Shaam, Mohit Chauhan, Neha Kakkar, Karan Randhawa, Gippy Grewal, etc. This college has 20+ societies (clubs) for different interests like dancing, singing, theatre, debating, photography, videography, film making and many more.
