Life at Periyar Maniammai University

Overall Rating
This university is a place where one can get perfect academics in a peaceful and disciplined environment. They provide bus and hostel services. The canteen has some good dishes. The hostel is average though. But the faculties are good in all aspects, providing a better future for the aspiring graduates. This is was the first Engineering college opened for women and now it has co education.
 

Academics Rating
To get a seat in Architecture one has to clear the NATA or the JEE Paper 2. After clearing the exams, the college will admit students based on the cutoff marks combing the entrance exam marks and the higher secondary education marks. Students are allotted based on counselling. There are concessions provided for the SC category. Scholarships are given to the high scoring students and sports achievers.
 

Faculty Rating
There are faculties proportionally provided for the given number of students. There is a library with digital facilities and laboratories. Smart education systems are in all the classrooms. The studio rooms are well equipped and properly furnished. The education system here helps to improve the knowledge of the student more efficiently.
 

Placement Rating
There are no placements for the Architecture courses.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel rooms are equipped with cots, cupboard, fans and tube lights. Common washrooms, purified drinking water and laundry facilitates are provided. Cleaning happens occasionally in the hostel. The gym facility is also available. But the hostel food is below average.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic blocks are located far away from each other. The building blocks are very old but provide enough natural lighting and ventilation. But the washrooms are not well-maintained. There is a big sports ground and multipurpose indoor stadium. There are two canteens available in the campus. This institute has parking facilities for the staff and students. There are many trees in the campus.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is very enjoyable. There are many fests happening frequently. The Pongal and annual functions will be celebrated grandly. Symposiums will be conducted regularly. There are social and political clubs where the students can engage themselves and contribute to the society. The cultural clubs host competitions regularly for the refreshment of students and to improve their co curricular talents.

  • An university with good infrastructure and environment

    I joined this institute for my bachelor studies in 2019. Due to covid period, I couldn't analyze anything when I was in my online classes. That's why I joined my master's in the same college once again. My overall experience from this university is good the campus area is neat and clean and the infrastructure is amazing.
