Dr. Harisingh Gour University has more than 50 departments

This university has a lush green campus, situated on a hilly region. It has a good environment and a nice weather. Our university has more than 50 departments along with sophisticated instrument labs. The whole campus has MHRD enabled Wi-Fi where each and every student can get free access to the internet. The departments are interconnected which makes it easier to travel from one department to the other.

There are multiple courses available according to the needs of the students. Students can check all the details regarding courses and fees at the university website. M.Sc Forensic Science is an emerging field which has plenty of job opportunities. To enroll into this university one has to clear CUET, which is a moderate level exam. The university makes a cut off list. According to the marks obtained seats are distributed. A maximum of 25 seats are available in M.Sc Forensic Science. My motive for enrolling into this program is to gain practical knowledge of law enforcement techniques and lab works.

Here the faculties are well educated, having Ph.Ds and multiple degrees. They are very supportive in nature and are very helpful to the students. Sometimes scholars also take classes of the students when the professors are not available. Their style of teaching is through modern ICT tools along with PPTs and seminars.

We have a placement cell but it’s still in its developing phase. As such no big placement drive occurs here. Mostly, students have to search for jobs on their own.

The hostel is very good in this university. It is very affordable and is proper for accommodation. The only problem is that there is no mess. Students have to contact for tiffin services.

There are new and old buildings here. The old buildings are not proper and the infrastructure is not so good too. But the new buildings are very nice. The atmosphere here is very pleasant. Well-equipped labs are available in every department which is very helpful for the students doing research. We also have a fully functional library which contains thousands of books and journals which can be used by each and every student.

This university is good for study purposes only. No importance given to co-curricular activities, which is a negative aspect for many students. There are no clubs, fest or sports activities ogranised here. So I prefer students who are willing to only study to join this university.
