IIIT Delhi Placements: Success Stories and Opportunities

I've completed my two years of B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, New Delhi. This institute is quite good in academics and placements.

Well, for academics, god helps us all. I, myself, being an above average student, sometimes feel academic pressure here regarding tight deadlines, plagiarism policy, etc. Electronics courses were quite difficult for me. The academic is focused on current market trends with the mix of old courses. For assignments plagiarism is entirely prohibited. The case gets worse with each strike. Like if, there's a component of Homework with a weight age of 20% in a course, if even a single homework is plagiarized, then entire component is marked as 0. Once you get 3rd strike, then it's over for you.

Faculty is quite good though. Almost all of them are PhD holders from top universities/institutes around the globe. The faculty is pretty good academically. I haven't really talked to many in person but I did talk to one regarding my career, he was very understanding.

A lot of institutes, even some IITs were struggling with placements; institute was doing relatively better in comparison to them. The current average is, 23 LPA for B.Tech batch 2024 and the highest was 1 Crore Per Annum.

There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Tallest ones are 11 floors high

The campus, at first glance, looks like a big company office. The LHC building has three huge Lecture Halls, all AC ones. The buildings are properly ventilated. The academic department is entirely air conditioned. The institute does look relatively modern, unlike most of the buildings in DTU, my institute's building look more like professional ones. The library is relatively small compared to other institutes, though one can find books related to their courses. Sports complex is a big building on the left side of the main entry gate. It has a big swimming pool, 2 squash, 1 badminton court, a gym, and table tennis. On the outside, there's a basketball court and 2 lawn tennis courts beside it.

Campus life is chill only if one can balance the work and life here. I once, for the sake of enjoyment, put my academics aside and ended up with some backlogs. Otherwise, it's pretty good with some stuff to do here and there. We also have some decent fests, hackathons, etc. Best thing would be the yearly institute fest ‘Odyssey’. Every year, different renowned singers come to perform in the night and the day is filled with lot of stuff to experience & enjoy, in my opinion, probably those two days of 'Odyssey' are the best.
