Heritage Institute of Hotel and Tourism B.H.M. Review By Reena Pal

Heritage Institute of Hotel and Tourism is located in Shimla, offering hotel management courses and programs to those students who want to build their careers in the hospitality sector. I was one of them who selected this institute to follow my dreams. It is one of the top-rated hotel management institutes having international accreditation. They offer internationally certified programs; this is why it was my top priority. After my senior secondary class, this institute offered me a chance to begin my hospitality career with an easy admission process. I gained a lot of support and guidance from management while seeking out the admission process.

My dream was to serve the hospitality sector. This was one of my reasons to join the hotel management and catering program in this university. It was located near my hometown, Solan, the best thing I ever liked about it. Once I went through the admission requirements on the official website, I met the eligibility conditions. The entrance examination’s structure was very simple and easy to go. I cleared it easily. The program I started was somehow difficult for me, but slowly and slowly, I got a complete interest in it and the learning became easier for me all because of the teachers.

More than 10 faculty members for our stream, they were friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. They taught us with complete dedication and hard work. Somehow, they managed to take extra classes they encouraged us in every situation helping us to take part in projects, competitions, and much more. I was never confident in the beginning semester of the program. But it was only my faculty that made me encourage studying well.

Before taking admission to this institute, I was not aware of the placement options offered by them. I was doubtful about placements initially. But once I entered, I talked to my seniors and what they told me was completely awesome. A separate training and placement cell was there, which prepared students before going for placements. They gave training sessions for aptitude, reasoning, and personality development. One of my batch mates got placed in a top-rated hotel in Manali with a salary of 7 lac per annum as he got higher grades in the course.

Initially, I did not opt for a hostel. But after the second year, I started residing in a hostel because I was not able to devote proper time for study due to time issues. As I began living there, I was living to the fullest. At the same time, my complete focus was on my studies. Of course, boys and girls are assigned a separate accommodation facility. In the hostel mess, the food quality was not so good. But talking about safety, we all students were completely safe due to the best safety protocols.

HIHT has a good and modern infrastructure. There were extraordinary facilities provided to students so that they could learn in an easy and efficient manner. We had great classrooms, a well-organized library, and auditoriums. The university maintained hygiene in college classrooms, grounds, canteens, etc. As a whole, the university gave us a nice and peaceful place to study in this modern world. I never tried medical support, but of course, it was there to handle medical emergencies.

I can never forget the time I spent there. It was memorable for me for a lifetime. I enjoyed it completely and this institute had changed my life entirely. Not only for study, I remember this institute for its lovely celebrations, annual days, fests, etc. Along with the study, their motto was to let students get entertained to overcome the burden of study and feel fresh all the time.
