Life of DACST, Dehradun

Overall Rating
Doon PG College of Agriculture Science and Technology is one of the famous agriculture colleges of Uttrakhand. Faculties are good and educated. They help students to understand the practical thing.
 

Academics Rating
B.Sc Agriculture is one of the best courses which have scope in government and private sectors. In DCAST there is no as such admission test for join. If you have PCB / PCM with more than 60% in 12th then you can easily join this college through direct admission process.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are good but college needs to hire more faculties because the student teacher ratio is very less. Mr. Gourav Varma and Harendar sir are very good teachers. They help students lot. College has many good faculties.
 

Placement Rating
In our college there is no as such placement drive. Most of the student are preparing for government job and other course like ABM, MBA, and M.Sc. Some of company comes to college for placement but the package that they give it's very low.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is the good thing of this college. I stay in Ajay Hostel, which is located in the main college campus. The 24/7 electricity is one of the best thing. In Selaqui power cut is a big issue for the local people but in hostel there is no sign of power cut due to power backup.
 

Infrastructure Rating
College infrastructure is stuck for some year but nowadays college is trying to improve the infrastructure and its quality. Academic building is attracted with big screen and all the amenities. The laboratory is quite advanced. There are many laboratories that help the student to understand practical thing.
 

Campus Rating
College campus is not bad. Generally two fests are conducted. One is March- April and one in November-December.

    I choose this college because the course fees of the college is affordable for middle class students and also there is a very easy process of taking admission in the college. If you are unable to pay fees monthly then you can pay the fees before semester exam. The overall experience is good and my elder brother is passed out from this college and now he is an Agriculture Field Officer. So these are the reasons due to which I choose this college....
