Lingaya's University M.Tech Review By Nikhil Sharma

In 2016, many questions were raised on Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth as it fought a legal battle to continue. The university won that battle and today is one of the best private universities of India. In 2017, when I decided to join Lingaya’s many people advised me to stay away as one doesn’t know about the future of its existence. M.Tech in CSE was offered by a very few universities and Lingaya being one of them, I had to take admissions here. The university as of now is phenomenal and also in a very good space. The university’s flagship program is engineering and students from various states come here and study. Many meritorious students are awarded scholarships here and the fees is also reasonable in comparison to various other private universities. Deserving students should try their hands at this university as it is located in Faridabad that has a good connection with almost all the places.

The future of the university seems bright because they have imparted some strict laws. In B. Tech students might get waived off for lesser attendance but not in M. Tech. M. Tech here is a full-time course and an absent of two days in succession means the university will call up your parents. A little too strict but because the university wants to build skilled engineers, they have made sure that students don’t miss out on any of the classes as incubation center of the university is always full with M. Tech students.

All the faculties of Lingaya’s University are excellent. In M. Tech there were 12 faculty and all of them possessed a very good experience of teaching. All of them were highly educated too and one who were more than capable of handling students. Not all but almost all of them were dedicated in not just imparting skills and education to the students but to help them beyond as well. Our interest and calibre were taken care of by the faculty as they sent our profiles to the placement cell for getting us the right jobs.

Like many others I also checked the placement record of the university before enrolling here. It is true that one shouldn’t always believe what’s mentioned on their site or brochure. I contacted many seniors and took their view as all of them said that deserving ones did have decent placements from the campus. Campus placements are otherwise not appreciable in private universities but for M. Tech from Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, you can be sure of some good placements. Summer internship of 2 months was compulsory and our performance was taken in notice and we were placed accordingly. I was happy with the placements as 80% students from our batch got placed and I was on the right side of the placements.

Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth has both boys and girls hostel. The boys' hostel capacity was 200 and all the students of various colleges of the universities stayed in the same hostel. The warden was quite strict as students who even tried to rag other students were suspended from the hostel and after one such incident no one even tried to do so. Hostel was good but had some issues with the food. The university is far from the main city and therefore going out for meals was never a great option as it would take 2 hours to go out and come back after having a dinner at good place. The hostel also had a swimming pool and it was accessible only for hostel students. There were also two common room in the boy’s hostel and we made it Even-Steven by making the one room for the students who are interested in watching matches and the other one was for music lovers.

The university is quite big and has multiple playgrounds for different sports. The university also has multiple libraries and the one for the engineering students was the biggest of them all. Libraries also had study room and study rooms were also air-conditioned. All the research papers required to study were easily available at the library and library was open 24*7 for the students. For CSE students, there was an intelligent classroom built that had all the modern IT tools. The university has a couple of canteens and managing that many students in those canteens was tough.

Life at Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth was fun as the annual fest ZEST was one of the best. M. Tech students were given their farewell in that fest. My review may sound quite favorable but I have just praised the university where it deserves and have also highlighted some nooks that are there. I hope my review help you take a better decision.
