Jesus and Mary College B.Com Review By Deepanshi Swami

The college has a very good infrastructure and is known for its faculty. Jesus and Mary College lies in a prime location of Delhi that is Chanakyapuri. It offers a very secure environment for women. Being an all girls’ college, it has an overall good vibe with good crowd and faculty. Placement opportunities offered are also good and helpful for the students.

The course which I am studying is Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.). To get admission into this college we need to clear an exam called CUET. It is a common entrance exam which gives admission to the students who want to get enrolled in Delhi University. The course requires minimum score of 740 in CUET. Most of the students who are enrolled in the course with these scores have pursued Commerce in their 12th class. My motive behind enrolling to this program was to gain more knowledge about commerce and get knowledge on various aspects of commerce, accounting, finance, investment, etc. Academics are great in this college. All the courses offered by this college have a top class faculty and resources.

The college is very concerned about its academic and faculty, focusing on clearing the concepts of students and also preparing them for semester and exams. Faculty of Jesus and Mary college is very friendly and they help the students whenever they have any doubts. The college also has a concept of tutorials which refers to conducting a doubt clearing session for students. Faculty also focuses on those students who can improve in academics. Scholarships and various rewards are given to every student who scores well in exams.

We do have a placement society in our college which is actively involved in providing students with various internship and placement opportunities. The placement cell connects with various recruiters and enterprises which offer students internship and jobs, and skills which are used in practical world.

There is no hostel provided by this college. However, Delhi University offers hostel for women in South campus.

Infrastructure of our college includes various buildings for library, auditorium, admin block, and blocks for special courses such as computer science and a separate department for B.Ed. The college is divided into departments and has allotted separate classrooms to separate departments. Our college library has books of many genres for all the departments.

The campus life of the college is very lively and the annual fest, known as MONTAGE is very popular among students of Delhi University. The crowd here is mostly of well-mannered people. Other half of the college is divided for Christians who comes together for various celebrations. They are very friendly and sweet to us. College also conducts various events and fests conducted by different departments at different intervals. Various festivals such as Diwali, Christmas, and New year etc. are also celebrated.
