My Journey in Heramba Chandra College, Kolkata

Overall Rating
Before 2015 (when I took admission), Professor Monilal Das was Head Of The Department for Accountancy in Heramba Chandra College. He was one of the inspirations for me to enroll in this college. Another factor that inspired me to take admission here was the fact that my father and uncle were also pass out from this college. Now coming to the academic part, the college is a foundation for Commerce Students. No other college provides such dedicated faculties for Commerce stream. Every student, trying to get into Commerce Stream should choose this college.
 

Academics Rating
I studied in Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing (Hons.). Though I don't know what the current qualification requirements are but back in 2015, the minimum marks required to get entry in this course was 85% in Accountancy, Maths and Commerce. My motive to enroll in this program was to pursue Chartered Accountancy.
 

Faculty Rating
Many professors who taught in my time have already retired. Subhashish Sir taught accountancy in my section and his teaches style was very good. He made sure all the queries of the students were answered so did all the other professors but unfortunately I can't remember their names. This indicates the fact that college pays attention to the quality of professors.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a placement cell in the college. They conducted yearly campus placement program and helped students to get placements.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, there is a facility for Boys’ Hostel which was well maintained by the college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college didn't have different building but a single building in the shape of a big U and all the offices and classrooms were spread throughout the building. There were many classrooms in the 6 storey building and there was no fixed place for a particular class might be held. There was a book store where the students could buy books related to the syllabus. There was a canteen were affordable food was available for the students.
 

Campus Rating
The college had a student union which was affiliated to a political party, so rallies were held sometimes. There was no fixed rule regarding the students leaving the college premises which gave the students complete freedom to leave the college at anytime there class had ended. Annual Festivals, Annual Sports Meet, Freshers and Farewell were held in the college but the timings depended if there were any exams around the corner.

    I have just completed my graduation from this college you should definitely take admission in this college, classes are taken regularly, teachers are extremely helpful.     I have done my Geography Hons from this Institute, so I think I can give you a true description and review of the faculty and teaching method. By having a B.Sc. it's more important to be concerned about practical part of the subject. Heramba Chandra College provides adequate practical work equipment and environment. The college has limited seats in B.Sc. in Geography Honors which also leads to a positive impact in classroom as it helps teachers to identify the mistakes done by students. They pro... Everyone waits for the college fest as it is conducted on a grand level. This college also enhances you extracurricular skills like singing, dancing, drawing, writing, or any type of sports.
