My Journey in Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences

Overall Rating
The institute was established in 2016 and is located in a very good environment with cool and calm climate. No pollution or traffic near the campus enables the student to have healthy peaceful academic performance. Good patient input to the hospital helps the students to secure good clinical knowledge.
 

Academics Rating
In order to get admission to Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences, one has to clear NEET UG examination conducted by National Testing Agency. Counseling will be done on merit basis by KEA in state level and MCC in national level. Total 4 and 1/2 year course + 1 year compulsory internship must be done.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are well experienced. Most of them are from Mysuru, Hassan, Chamrajnagar and Dakshin Kannada districts. They have good approach towards students. Each student will be assigned a mentor who reviews entire academic and co-curricular performance throughout the year. Most of teachers have adopted modern teaching techniques.
 

Placement Rating
As this is professional course, no placements will be assured. Compulsory internship will be there with stipend of 30k per month. After clearing internship, students can move forward to prepare for NEET PG to complete the master’s degree.
 

Hostel Rating
Separate hostel facilities are available for both girls and boys. Double and triple sharing rooms are available with attached bathroom. Rs 900 are charged for mess. Overall, It has pretty affordable hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences is located at a hill top. Campus is huge but is at the sloppy area. There are total three blocks i.e., A, B and C that have good infrastructure. Until 2nd academic year, classes take place in institute. The institutes also a huge hospital near the Madikeri city. Recently, new hospital building was also inaugurated. Overall, the infrastructure is good.
 

Campus Rating
Campus Life may not be so enjoyable just like other courses but there were clubs for Sports, Dance, Art, Music, Literature, Eco, etc. Institute Fest, Institute Day, Farewell, Freshers, Kannada Rajyostava, New Year, Ganesh Chaturthi are the few events that are celebrated with grandeur. Some of the other activities and events include sports competition, cultural, literary competitions and many more.
