JIS College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Riddhi Dhara

I have been a student of JIS College of Engineering for almost 3 years and 3 months, and I see myself to be most eligible to give the review. I had a decent overall experience till date in the college. I won’t say that everything was perfect. This being a Tier 3 college is average in providing all the basic facilities. It has an average teaching staff, amenities and labs. One thing that is admirable about the college is the environment and the campus of the college. Most importantly, what I observed as of 2024 is that the Placement Drives are frequent. Besides these, festivals, Hackathons and other competitions are held as well.

Academics in Computer Science and Engineering course are average as the students need to manage their studies themselves. However, basic help is surely provided, and the library staff and teachers are cooperative. The courses are revised periodically and are up to date. The entry requirement is simple; the students can get admission through WBJEE with a decent rank. Since Computer Science is a popular subject nowadays, it creates a lucrative path and opens the gateway of technologies. This is the driving force for enrolling to this course.

Faculty members are cooperative and help students whenever needed. Teaching staffs are qualified and are motivated to teach the students. They have an average style of teaching and are cooperative with the students and conduct scheduled exams and assignments.

We do have a Placement Cell in our College and as of 2024, I have seen that the placement drives are frequently conducted and students are getting placed in companies like Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc. Training is being conducted by the Placement Cell.

Yes, we have Hostel facilities. However, I am not a Hostel Boarder. According to my friends from the hostel, Hostel life is good and has all required facilities with proper security.

First of all, our campus is really beautiful and there are separate blocks for separate courses. The campus blocks are well maintained, cleaned and contain all necessary amenities like drinking water, AC and playgrounds and separate playrooms for boys and girls along with clean toilets and washroom. There is a cafeteria for lunch where students get healthy meal with minimal pricing.

According to me, campus life is good. Our college conducts different fests, competitions, sports matches and tech talks delivered by renowned personalities. The most enjoying days are Puja celebrations conducted by the college. College also invites many Actors and Singers for the fest 'and many other engaging activities are conducted regularly in the college.
