My overall Institute experience has been alright. The academics weren't a big hurdle and the faculty was supportive. Some reasons for choosing the Institute is the decent placements and the proximity to IT parks in whitefield and ITPL bengaluru. It is also very easily accessible via public transport from different parts of the city. There's plenty of good faculty members and mentors from whom you can learn a lot.

The Institute follows the VTU syllabus. Although a bit dated, the core CS curriculum is totally solid. The juniors (from 2022 batch) follow the autonomous curriculum so they have a much more modern and relevant syllabus. I got the seat through KCET counseling. The fees for KCET students are fixed by the government and it is approximately 1 Lakh every year. Management quota seat fees may vary from person to person. In my class students of management quota pay from 2.5 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs every year. The juniors pay 5 to 6 lakhs per year for CS and AIML, 3.5L for ISE and 2.5L for ECE. The entrance tests are KCET and COMEDK. There is no entrance test for management quota students provided they clear minimum eligibility of 55% in 12th. There’s an optional scholarship tests for management quota students that can fetch up to 40% scholarships.

Most of the faculty is well qualified and have plenty of research and industry experience. Every department has 15 to 20 teachers. Usually all of them have qualified Ph.D in their respective fields. Assistant professors have qualified M.Tech. There are some professors who follow a conventional way of teaching but, the younger professors are much more interactive and are interested in overall development of students. They help with placements and finding internships through referrals. The Dean of R & D and research department is the best in Bangalore. They are very helpful in funding student projects and providing facilities.

Yes, there is a placement cell. The placement cell is very active and the training starts from 5th semester itself. They are very serious and strict about placements. Average package is 5 to 7 LPA, Highest placement in 2023 was 31 LPA.

There is both girls and boys hostel. Hostel is average. There are single and double sharing rooms. Food is mediocre. There’s free Institute, gym membership, including both hotel fees and indoor games. There is a basket ball court and football turf.

The campus is fairly decent. There are 2 academic blocks, 3 Labs and industrial blocks. The main building is modern and has good facilities. A 1,000 seater auditorium and a 3 floor well equipped library is also provided. A digital library is offered that gives access to major paid journal and publisher. The labs are well equipped. The Samsung innovation lab has high end GPUs for training advanced AI models. Big ground, a lawn area for students to chill, a basket ball court and a football court is available. There are many companies who have their offices in the campus itself.

There is an annual fest called Chiguru. They invite many celebrities and have a lot of events and competitions. However these events are focused on the locals as most of the celebrities are kannada celebrities. Students from the north may feel isolated in the beginning but would feel at home after making friends. There are plenty of clubs such as Ad Astra, TedX, Microsoft student clubs, Google student developer clubs, etc. There are multiple activities conducted all over the year so that the students show active participation.
