Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology B.Tech Review By Vansh Sisodia

I am a 2nd year student of B.Tech Electrical Engineering branch at Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pauri Garhwal. I took admission in this institute in August 2023. GBPIET is a good choice for students seeking quality education in nature's beauty. However, there are some areas which need improvement.

The institute offers various under graduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) courses in different fields of Engineering like Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, and Civil Engineering. You have to take JEE Mains entrance exam and score good percentile in the exam to get admission in this institute.

This institute has professors and some guest faculties are also available. There are different faculties for taking lectures and labs. Some professors also have their written books which are available in institute library.

Placement in this institute can be improved. Some branch like Computer Science gets an average placement. Only few students of some branch get placed in this institute. You have to study hard and smart to get in the top students in your respective branch to get placement.

Yes, this institute has hostel facilities. There are separate hostel available for each year students. Some hostels have Wi-Fi facility. In boy’s hostel, 1 hostel room is given to 3 boys in which they have separate table, bed, almirah, etc. You can bring your own kettle to drink warm water in winters. There are still some areas of improvement.

The infrastructure of this institute is good. Departments and lectures rooms are good. There is a Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium (M.G Auditorium) in this institute in which all different events and performances take place. There is an Administration Office for official works. Some buildings and hostel are newly built. Lecture rooms are equipped with a white board and a smart board. The campus has some shops for food and stationary. There is also Shiv Mandir and Hanuman Mandir in institute campus where students can visit anytime. There is a SBI Bank and ATM inside the institute campus. There are two grounds (not that big) where students can play different sports.

This institute also organizes ‘Josh’, which is a sport event in which students can participate in different sports and games.
