Jaipur National University B.Tech Review By Shruti Saxena

Jaipur National University is undoubtedly one of the most renowned universities in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It offers more than 30 courses altogether in three different campuses. I opt for B.Tech (Food Technology) which is their one of the top most rated branch of engineering. For seeking admission in B.Tech one must have minimum 50% in 12th with science background. Faculties over there are highly cooperative and understanding at the same time. I never ever faced any difficulty in academics from my faculties throughout my engineering. But I am disappointed with the college management since they least bother about the students issues. The university does maintain a disciplined atmosphere all around the campus which is appreciable but infrastructure of SADTM campus can be way better. So all in all I was happy with my academics and faculties but at the same time was highly disappointed with the college management and placement cell because they assured with a 100% campus placement thing but didn't provide even a single placement. Therefore it was a fusion of different experiences for me at JNU.

I have joined B.Tech (Food Technology) for which minimum eligibility criteria is 50% in 12th with science background. Apart from this one need to pass their Common Entrance Test (CET) for getting admission in B.Tech. I opted for this particular course because it has enormous and never ending scope since food industries are growing at an alarming rate and will continue to grow even more in near future. The curriculum is perfect and according to the requirements of the industry. This branch of engineering will definitely reap you with a job having a handsome salary and growth.

In JNU there are more than 100 faculties but particularly food tech department constitute of 6 faculty members. All the faculties are well experienced and knowledgeable having at least master's degree in the same domain. Each and every faculty provides proper notes on each topic with proper explanation during classroom teaching. Even they are readily available to clear all types of queries and problems related to their concerned subjects. Apart from academic one can rely on the faculties for discussing other issues related to college. In my personal opinion they are the best faculty members one can have in college.

Training and placement cell is not up to the mark since they neither have enough number of companies for the campus placement nor provide with the satisfactory job profile and salary. Although they promised a 100% placement for food tech students but did not provide with even a single campus placement from my batch. Even after complaining a lot they didn't listen to the students and continue with their false promises. This was one of the bitterest experiences of my college life.

JNU has basically 3 campuses - SADTM, SILAS and main campus. Talking about the infrastructure then main campus has the best infrastructure whereas sadtm and silas need to improve its infrastructure. Cafeteria needs to be more hygiene and spacious. Other facilities like library, labs, medical support and playground are at satisfactory level.

Campus life in JNU is not a piece of cake since one of the for most rule of JNU is you are not allowed to leave the campus before college gets over. So that's the only difficult part of it rest it was a kind of good and enjoyable one as there are fests, cultural activities, college get together, clubs and outings for students.
