This college is one of the most sought after in the country. The OBC cutoff hovers around the open category levels. It has a good campus of 43 acres with adequate infrastructure and recreational facilities. The campus ensures that you never feel any performance pressure and enjoy your college life without affecting your grades

The MBBS course is usually 4.5 years long followed by a year of paid internship. You need a high rank in NEET-UG for getting admission here .like up to 6000AIR for state quota and up to 1000 AIR for all India quota aspirants. The academics are good and have been revised in 2019 to make it more clinically oriented. The exam pattern has changed accordingly such that you are now more likely to learn and encounter scenarios where you are given marks based on how much clinical knowledge you have learned. You will get questions based on real life scenarios involving a patient where you will be tested on your ability to effectively manage that patient

The faculty is helpful and friendly. You can always approach them be it for concept related doubts or during you clinical postings or internship duties that involve dealing with actual patients in OPD and wards. There is no limit to how much you can learn real life skills from them, the more we ask, the more they bring it upon themselves to teach us everything that we can possibly learn

We don’t have a placement cell because probably the name of the institute is well known across the country. Even in my city there are doctors practicing who have passed out from here. During job searches you certainly have an advantage if you have this college in your portfolio. You certainly get a preference. Plus you can work here itself after MBBS (if you want to work for some time after MBBS) based on vacancies in medical officers postings and if you are an alumnus of this place you certainly get a preference

Hostel canteen has limited options with ordinary food and taste. But you can go to other canteens located on the campus. The hostel is currently undergoing renovation with painting work and furnishing completed in few rooms. They are also about to provide completely furnished furniture and cupboard to every room. There are three hostels namely RM Bhatt, Apna boy’s hostel and Old boy’s hostel. RM and Apna boys are located close to each other and Old boy’s is at the other end of the campus and it houses first year students. It is troublesome for people who travel for 2 hours by local trains to get a room here. Other people easily get a room for the whole duration of course. This was the boys hostel description ,where I currently live

Infrastructure is excellent. They are currently building a new super specialty building that will house every specialist doctor you could ask for. The renovations are also underway in other hospital buildings that furnish the rooms very well. There are plans to start installing air conditioners in more places in hospital. Overall there is a PWD department overseeing infrastructure work. You can request them to renovate your room in case there is any trouble and also for more charging points to be installed

Campus with its huge size provides excellent experience. There are three events namely Sangharsh (formerly known as Astitva) that is the biggest event in our college. Well known entertainers and artists perform in this event. This year we had a Samay Raina standup comedy show in a hall booked for our students and a Gajendra Verma concert at our very own gymkhana at Marine Lines. There is also Antarang , an event that celebrates the culture of Maharashtra and eminent citizens that have contributed to Maharashtra’s culture interact with students. You also have dance and singing and many more events during sangharsh. The biggest sporting event is Kurukshetra where there are plenty of sports to enjoy. There is gully cricket, box cricket, open ground cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, kho-kho, kabaddi and so many more games to play. It also has all the indoor games like badminton, table tennis, carrom, chess etc. You can also stroll in the lush green campus for fresh air .
