In a nutshell, IITM accounts for exposure and the environment. You can join any college, but the rest will depend on you. By exposure, I mean the kind of activities we did and the tours we were taken. By environment, I mean the kind of competition that existed during our batch. I can proudly say that the college did exceptionally well on both the parameters. During the course of academics, we were given many opportunities as we were taken to many quiz and debate competitions. The college being in Delhi is certainly an advantage, and trust me, there’s no college that even comes close to IITM Janakpuri. One can take as many advantages they want from IITM Janakpuri as the college belongs to a league that no other college can even match. With league, I mean, the colleges in Delhi or India for that matter that provides the same set of facilities and have equally cut-offs that IITM Janakpuri has.

Academics were out of the world because every 15 days, even the BBA students were taken out. Not always for industry visits but for fun as well. All the skills required in business managers were taught with complete precision. We had no choice but to maintain attendance at a certain level. I was glad that I was a part of this institute because they also taught us the importance of doing PGDM or MBA along with BBA. They also made us prepare for that as relatively similar kinds of mock tests happened every month from the 5th semester. If I was able to do my PG from one of the top colleges, it was only because of the IITM academics.

The faculty was world-class and were accessible as and when required. If I talk about their experience and knowledge, it was so immense that even If I just count their degrees and the research they had done, one will perhaps get shocked. Faculties play a major part in grooming students, and the IITM faculty was just like that. They have been at our help on any short notice. The doubt solving sessions happened at the students will. If there’s still more that one demands or accepts, they can fool themselves because not many colleges have such faculties.

IP colleges, if I consider for placements, IITM was the best. Those who wanted placements were more than happy as they got more than they expected. In the banking sector, CITI Bank, and Standard Chartered were there. In FMCG sector, Nestle and HUL were there. In capital goods sector, Punj Lloyd, and L&T were there. IITM invites all the top players, and the top players also obliged by giving pay cheques of 3-4 lakhs to BBA students. Even the best in business doesn’t offer such packages. By best in the business, I mean the best colleges. I was asked to compare a few colleges, so I will compare this part with two of the best colleges for BBA: Symbiosis and NMIMS. The intake of students in those colleges are thrice than that of IITM and therefore the placement percentage of IITM is much better than those colleges. Also, the average pay scale that IITM offers is higher than those colleges. Hence proves that IITM is India’s top most college for doing BBA.

The college doesn’t have a hostel, but because it is one of the best colleges, students from all across the country come and study here. They can easily find themselves the best PGs around the college as Janakpuri is rather cheap than other areas of Delhi.

Since, the campus has two colleges operating, there are two separate buildings. The lecture halls were air-conditioned and for the first time in my life, I saw ECT-enabled classrooms. A superb computer center with the latest machines and with a power backup facility. Now, where does that power backup come from? Both the buildings have solar panels installed a year before, I left the college which generate nearly 40% of the electricity consumed at the campus. The figures might be wrong, but this is what our principal said while addressing a session. There’s also a syndicate room for virtual conferences that take place at the campus. A campus infrastructure is far from over before discussing the canteen and the beautiful Nescafe cafeteria that we had at the IITM campus.

Campus life had everything from studies to seminars, guest lectures, and workshops. All the extracurricular activities that happened at the campus were done at the beautiful auditorium of the campus. A Delhi college without fests is always incomplete and IITM is a complete package so the annual fest FIESTA can be compared to that of IIT Delhi or LSRCC. One can have as much fun they want as IITM offers one of the best campuses lives in Delhi.
