I chose Amity University for more exposure of global level with students from all over the world. I wanted to do Honors course and it was available here. I had a flawless experience at this university and was impressed by the online facilities available during Covid lockdown. Everything from admission to fee payment to attendance and results was through Amizone, official website of all Amity branches.

BA (Hons.) Economics at Amity University is a 3-year course. Eligibility requirement for this course is to have a 60% or more marks in 12th grade. Total tuition fee for this course was Rs. 675000 (at that time).

Faculty consisted of highly qualified and experienced academicians. Some of them were even gold medal winners from London School of Economics. Teaching consisted of making use of latest technology in class that were highly sophisticated and updated. All the faculties are helpful and you will have a mentor to help guide you across the duration of your course. Regular internal exams are held during each semester with additional assignments, presentations given as internal components according to subject and context.

A placement cell is available in which student can avail or not according to their free will. Top recruiting companies include Wipro, IBM, etc. with a highest package of 3.5 Lakh Per Annum. Second year students are actively persuaded to do internships, which is a part of our mandatory semester wise credits system.

Both AC and non-AC hostel is available at Amity University. I had availed Non-AC hostel during my course period and hostel fee averaged at 80k per year. The rooms available were 2 sharing bedrooms with personal table, almirah, etc. Laundry services are a component that is availed by default within your hostel fee.

Campus consisted of several huge blocks with different departments occupying each block. Economics department was at K block during my time. The entire campus has free Wi-Fi facilities. There are several food courts at convenient locations within the campus including Dominoes, and Sunway outlets. There is a bookstall for both fiction, nonfiction, and a proper supermarket for every day needs. University boasts of a fully AC library with top-notch collections and proper seating infrastructure to make use of services needed. It also consists of a GYM, playground for sports, swimming pool, etc.

Regular fests and events are held at campus including ‘Sangathan’, an annual fest. Most of the festivals and special days are celebrated at campus. You can experience diversity at campus from all the events that take place. There are movie nights at common H block every week. Annual sports meet brings students from all around the country and it is an event that gets you to meet up and engage with a diverse crowd. Celebrities visiting for promotions and as guests of events are a common thing.
