IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus BBA Review By Yatendra Tivari

Unlike other IMS institutes, IMSUC is affiliated with Meerut University (Chaudhary Charan Singh University). The fees for BBA in Retail Marketing was 3 lakhs, and our laptop and trip was included in that. We still had to pay a few more extras in the name of extracurricular activities. IMS has a good name in management courses and is undoubtedly one of the best colleges for BBA in entire North India. Since I am from Ghaziabad, I knew I didn’t have to look any further as IMSUC is one of the best. Students of the college govern all the college clubs like the craft club, big idea club, theatre club, dance club, etc. A transparent voting system exists to be a part of these clubs, and even the leaders are elected through voting. So, the college will also help you develop some leadership skills as well. College hosts many events, and the buzz around the college all year round is quite vibrant.

Education at IMSUC is a combination of theory and a lot of practical work. Practical were not just assignment writing or case study solving, but we were taken on tours almost every semester. All our observations had to be done through assignments, and they counted for internals. Subjects were few here as only the necessary subjects were included, unlike other colleges with hoards and hoards of subjects that are irrelevant to the courses. Technology has taken over the classrooms as everything was taught through digital methods and we also had to carry our laptops to classrooms. All our activities were monitored through ERP, and any goof ups in attendance and internals were tracked and informed to parents.

Worded and experienced faculties can be found anywhere these days, but most were PhD holders and masters of their respective subjects. Faculties were always ready to go all out and help us not just academically but also in personal issues. They used to organize many workshops and made us learn the art of personal investment, digital marketing, personality development, and career development. Faculties did one thing the best: sharpening the student’s personalities so that they become confident and future ready.

Both CRC and CDC cell worked closely with students to guarantee good placements to its students. The top two recruiters were retail companies Tommy Hilfiger and Aditya Birla Group during our batch, which invested heavily in the retail business. Most packages offered were around 2.5 to 3 lakhs. Some even procured jobs worth 4 lakhs and above depending on the student profiles. Most jobs offered were in-house sales jobs. Things unfolded quite smoothly as 80% of students had campus placements as some of them took it while some of them like me, politely denied it as I didn’t like the role I offered more than the salary. The only issue with placements was that students were not provided internship opportunities through college, and hunting them on our own was challenging. A proper internship would have helped us get even better offers.

There are two six-floor hostels each for boys and girls. The hostel mess was open for all as even we could have our meals there at a reasonable rate. The mess was excellent as it wasn’t like any old odd mess. The hostel was fantastic, but since I was a day scholar and we were not allowed to enter the hostel premises, I won’t be able to write more than this. Hostel is a better option for students from other towns and states because finding a suitable place in Ghaziabad close to the college is nearly impossible.

The college location is on the highway so getting a bus or an auto from any part of the city is quite easy. I used to stay 4-5 miles from the college and was using transport arranged by college. The campus is about the newly constructed five floor building that is fully ac. No one has to step out of the building until the college is done. The building had a sports archive, auditorium, meeting cabins, and the canteen. The classrooms and library was finger enabled, and the library was equipped with every relevant book that we required. In terms of sports, there’s a small football court.

There are two fests that happen every year. In December, students are encouraged to be a part of PULSE, an intercollegiate fest of all the IMS Colleges. BBA students had to organize their own fest called MARKFEST. There’s also annual sports meet at the IMS Adhyatmik Nagar campus. The fests used to have a fashion show and many red-carpet events. Celebrities like Honey Singh and Jubin Nautiyal were invited in 2017, which was my final year at IMSUC. Overall, the campus life was great because learning was at the peripheral and rest all followed as perks.
