Renaissance College of Commerce & Management B.Com Review By Ankit Pathak

RCCM is a modern day college where students can have all the fun they want but one thing which is eluded is studies. Luckily the college runs a scholarship program and the students with over 90% get full scholarship. Trust me, the students over 90% were even less than 10 at RCCM. The college boasts a modern infra and a crowd to die for. All the hot chicks of the city can be found here and boys who have superb backing of their parents come for fun as even the B. Com result at RCCM was less than 50%. For those who want to study, are looked differently here as other students gave them very nice titles like Sadu, Padhaku, Khajur and others. Attendance was not at all required as after the completion of first year, I joined MBA coaching classes and came to college only during internals and exams. So, if you have a nice backing, please come here as the college is a synonym for the definition of fun.

First year, first few months were different as we were told the importance of education in life and how education can only help us go places. Come October, and we will be given a list of events that will be held in next 6-7 months. When I check that list, I was like; if one does all this then when they will study. Students too seemed more excited for it and most of them including me too joined some clubs and in the name of serious meetings, casual talks were flaunted for hours. Once academics took the back seat, it never came in front. So, for those who thinks academics is a thing for the back seat and college events should be made priority, will have a gala time at RCCM.

In a 15-20 member faculty list of our course, 3-4 serious faculties tried their best to make students sit in the class. Rest all were happy on boasting student’s achievements in the events. All their dance moves and where they went wrong were discussed in their classes. Need I say anymore? I think I should stop about this part here itself because seriously don’t have anything serious to talk about them.

If one wants to reach the dead end of placements, RCCM is the place. Placements were never discussed even as some students went to the placement cell asking for assistance. The answer that they got was BBA students are finding it tough to get placed and B. Com students are asking for placements. This was enough for me to say that door hi from outside because inside it nothing happened and those who wanted genuine help had to help themselves.

RCCM has many outstation students and still the college has failed to have a hostel. The students are assisted as the college is located in the middle of the city and one can find many private hostels in the area close to the hostel. These days students have started renting apartments and stay that way. Indore isn’t that expensive and the city is famous for its food places. So, for outstation students, rent an apartment and try out all the exclusive restaurants of the city.

The campus may be little small but to describe every inch of it, it will take ages. The campus main building was a marvel. The college has millennials in it and to take care of those, the college has built a couple of recreation rooms. The rooms had pool tables, where students used to bet openly during the games. There was a basketball court which became a meeting point for the couples. All the friendship at the campus happened at the most happening place of the campus and that was ‘Da Vinci Café’. The cafeteria was expensive than most food joints of Indore and yet one will have to wait long to get their orders ready. There was a seminar hall to the left of the building with a roof top and small events were held there. The red-carpet events were held at the Lotus auditorium which was the master piece of the entire infrastructure.

The definition of fashion starts from here. Students wearing leather jackets even during summers were quite common here. Half the strength came to college wearing shades even if there was no sunlight. I have done my PG from MDI Gurgaon and if there’s one thing in which RCCM beats MDI, then it’s the fashion sense. The events were no less than Bollywood style as dance, acting, and skit shows were as good as anything. In short, if you are less in studies and want to make a career outside it, trust me you will find no place better than RCCM. Many celebrities too are invited during the fests and who knows, if you impress them, you might get a chance to feature alongside them.
