Studying in Sharda University has been a blessing in disguise, first I thought what good can come from studying in a private college but after spending a semester here with faculties, Ph.D scholars and students I was proved wrong. One can experience a vast variety of cultural diversity not only from students and teachers all across the nation but from other countries as well. The staff starting from your admission procedure to your convocation will be supportive and will push you in any opportunity coming your way.

Academics here are one of the many things that one can rely upon. Being brutally honest, where in other university faculties only read the presentations and mark the syllabus as complete from their own side, here in Sharda University, faculties are more towards making each and every student learn irrespective of the fact how good or bad they are at studies. Students are required to take notes to present in front of the entire batch, from viva to attending conference sessions at least twice in a month. I am pursuing a B.Sc (Hons.) in Biotechnology by Research. It’s a 4-year programme, to enroll in this programme one needs to have physics, chemistry and biology in class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks. It has an entrance exam called SUAT (Sharda University Entrance Test) which one can pass easily, and it grants scholarships ranging from 10%-50%. This course can help the students pursue masters in various fields like Immunology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, etc. This can also help people get into research fields.

Sharda has hired assistant and associate professors from all across the globe. Most teachers in my college have completed their higher education from abroad including their masters and post doctorate. All the faculty members have a vast experience of their subjects, having multiple degrees and working projects for research from top notch institutes and research labs. Faculties here push students more towards practical knowledge. The teachers help you write a review paper or a research paper under their guidance with your name as the first author which will help you further with your college applications for higher education.

Sharda University has 7 academic blocks which includes classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, seminar halls and auditoriums. Apart from these blocks it has hospital, dental clinic, cancer hospital, temple, hostels (separate for boys and girls, for foreign students and for medical students), and cafeterias with good quality food. There is a dedicated block for library, sports activity and cultural clubs. Multiple playgrounds are being allotted for various sports like football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, badminton and many others. The university provides Wi-Fi connectivity for each student and staff member up to 2 devices. Each and every room, lab and hall have air conditioning facilities. The campus has a well-defined security system which ensures decorum in and around the campus. Washrooms are well cleaned and maintained. It also provides parking facilities as it has a dedicated block and various other parking spots around the campus. For students living far from the college or day scholars can access e-library which includes books, previous year question papers, questions banks and research papers.

It has an annual fest named Chorus. It includes dance, artists, celebrity guests, art, theatre club students' performance, dance competition, tech fest, food stalls, carnival nights, poetry competitions and sports competition amongst various colleges. Apart from this fest, the university organizes freshers’ parties at two levels which are department freshers and university freshers.
