My experience at NIT

Overall Rating
I chose NIT Rourkela for its good NIRF ranking (24 in 2024) and amazing placement stats. The institute has an outstanding alumni network and is a backbone for every student for placements and other things. It’s a beautiful and large campus. NIT RKL's sports, technical and cultural societies are also amazing.
 

Academics Rating
A huge variety of courses is available here. CSE (Computer science), AI (Artificial intelligence), ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering), EI (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering), EE (Electrical Engineering), ME (Mechanical Engineering), CH (Chemical Engineering), CE (Civil Engineering), MME(Metallurgy), mining, etc. Also, M.Tech, B.Arch. and integrated M.Sc. courses are available.
 

Faculty Rating
Except for a few faculties, most of the professors are friendly and have amazing personalities. Many young assistant professors here encourage us and guide us on academic and personal aspects. Most of them are really good at teaching.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the Placement Cell is there, and it helps 90% of the students. The highest package was 1.2 crore per annum.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The hostel facility is there.
 

Campus Rating
There are two lecture halls which are LA 1 and LA 2 where most of the classes are conducted. There is a medical facility inside the campus for NITians which have 4-5 MBBS doctors and provide free medicines for all. The Golden Jubilee is a nice building, but the main building is just beautiful.

    In an overall view, my institute, NIT Rourkela, is a perfect university with an area of 1,200 acres including many more splendid scenic views and amazing water bodies. It also organises many events and fests like Cosmopolitan- The Multiethnic Fest, Innovation- The largest Technical Fest of Eastern India, Roots, Nitrutsav, etc. The environment inside the campus is brilliant and the atmosphere is clean....   • NIT Rourkela’s Infrastructure and Campus Experience

    NIT Rourkela has a very old campus as it is about 50 years old but still the infrastructure is so good. It has the best library in the Rourkela; we can have a lot of stuff like books and research articles. In a year I explored everything in the campus and I like to play cricket here....     I study in NIT Rourkela. I started my journey in 2024. It is an amazing experience for me. The environment and the campus area are too good.     Our institute named National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is one of the best institutes, which I have come across until now. It has NIRF ranking 02 in India among the list of NITs. It has a beautiful and green campus. Professors are supportive and they are always available for us. It has a lot of clubs, stadiums, and many facilities, which are necessary in a reputed institute.
