My Personal Views on Government Law College Mumbai

Overall Rating
Government Law College generally called, as GLC Mumbai is Asia's oldest Law school with the legacy of 169 years. GLC has been a one of the prestigious Law college of the country with a strong alumni base of many reputed Lawyers, High Court & Supreme Court Judges, many Politicians, and Bureaucrats.
 

Academics Rating
The college is affiliated to University of Mumbai provides courses like BLS, LLB and LLB. Academically speaking, the college stands average. Internal assessment system of college needs to be improved.
 

Faculty Rating
The college has limited full time faculty and majority is CHB faculty. The quality of full time professors in teaching varies from average to below average. Overall, it needs to hire experienced faculty for better academic experience.
 

Placement Rating
The college has above average placement records, which include Tier 1 firms like SAM, CAM, AZB, and many more. Furthermore, companies like Godrej, TATA, and many more also come during campus drive. Overall, the placements here are far higher than ROI ratio.
 

Hostel Rating
College provides a hostel accommodation to very limited students. There are two hostels: one boy, one girl is located near college. Two others are located at Bandra and Jogeshwari. Hostel facility is not at all promising.
 

Infrastructure Rating
GLC has an average infrastructure and small campus. However, gradually there is upgradation in infrastructure of the college since a year. College has renovated its library and has made it an iconic place to study. It supports research and hence college has provided all the required research facilities in college and soon the college shall revive its publication cell too.
 

Campus Rating
GLC has a vibrant crowd, which includes OMS and MS students. College has a very friendly and supportive environment where senior junior interaction is quite healthy. College has many committees where students get opportunity to display their leadership and work for their cause of their interest. Overall, college environment is quiet healthy and campus life is quiet good.

The reason why I chose this College strong legacy and alumni network which honestly opens a lot of doors for students.     I am in my first year. Since I have joined this college my experience is great. The seniors here are very helpful. You get to study with the same people who have interest in law. People are friendly here. The committees and competitions happening in GLC provide good exposure and it’s pretty good. The reputation of GLC gives you the Liberty to intern anywhere.     Government Law College, Mumbai is a legendary Law College as it's not just the oldest but one of the most reputed Colleges as well. Still the campus is such that you do a high jump and you will find yourself off off-campus. However, I don't think that campus size even matters as Marine Drive and High Court both are our neighbours.
