Chandigarh is the best place to study in North India after Delhi. The Universities in Chandigarh, like Chandigarh University, Chitkara University, Punjab University, and Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, are highly rated Universities and Colleges. RBU came out of nowhere as the University was near my place, and I saw the completion of the University from my eyes while it was getting built. I jokingly used to tell my family and friends that I would be studying there, and as Jinx happens, I ended up studying there. There were some drawbacks, but most of the University was promising. Student participation in most events has made the University organize them on a large scale. Many prominent personalities have come during those events, and many prominent personalities have also given guest lectures here. One of India's leading economists, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, has been a regular visitor at the University and has endorsed students to engage with sports as playing sports helps immensely in studies too.

By joining the BBA program here, I think I made the wisest decision that I could. I can do a lot of self-addition here as the BBA program here was not about management studies. We were taught an in-depth analysis of the business and how all businesses will flourish in the future. Digital marketing, which is one of the hottest businesses today, we were taught about the importance of that while I was studying there. Thus, the University is advancing way before the world, and out of many things that students here can do, one thing is they can make PPTs better than anyone. I made 200 PPTs in three years, and our faculty still found some ebbs in those.

They are the best highlights of the campus. The University took 4-5 years to get ready, and the professors that were hired went through some process for sure because all of them had Doctors as a prefix to their names. Hence, all of them were PhD holders. As a student at the University, I loved spending time with them, and they didn't mind indulging students in the staffroom and other activities. It was all about the camaraderie that students of the University and the faculty had with each other. Their teaching was promising, and their methods of teaching were even unique.

RBU placements aren't as promising as the faculties are. Don't go on the numbers they endorse in the advertisements, as 25-30% of the students were placed through campus. Many Pharma companies that have made their offices in Zirakpur came for hiring. Many banks too, are opening their branches, and to fill that workforce, they came to RBU. Amid all these, only one-fourth of students could have campus placements at a 4-5 lakhs salary. The salary, I feel, was still good because freshers getting that kind of salary, at least in Punjab, is rare.

The hostels at the University were too good. The girl's hostel building was amazing as the rooms had balconies in them. Even the boys hostel building was no less as power back-up, washing machines, and RO water facility were provided to the hostel students. Haven't seen the hostel inside out, but having asked some of my friends who used to stay at the hostels, had blown a lot of trumpets about the hostels. A new girl's hostel was getting built as girls here are given scholarships and concessions both in College and hostel fees. Due to this reason, many girls have made their way to RBU campus. This initiative will promote girl child education in our area where the girl's literacy rate is one of the lowest in the country.

Punjabi's and food go hand in hand. To make sure students have the best food available in the campus, many food joints have been built inside the campus. The library was world-class as one mini-library was made in all the buildings and a central library which was open for hostellers 24*7. The hostellers had a library in the hostels, too. The sports ground was out of the world as it was a mini-stadium right at the back end of the University. There is a PNB ATM branch and a fully operational branch of OBC bank at the campus.

The campus was full of life as I enjoyed every single moment that I spent there. Media studies students of the University kept entertaining us and there was a 'DIMSUM' fest in which we were served momos at the campus. There was a campus beautification committee of which I was a member. All the members were free to give their advice, if they felt any changes needed to be done at the campus. The campus was still building and the points of the students studying were taken into consideration.
