Government Engineering College B.Tech Review By Raushan Yadav

I chose to take admission in Government Engineering College, Palamu because it is the 2nd government engineering College in Jharkhand which comes under JUT Board Ranchi and it is fully funded by Jharkhand Government. Whoever wants to take admission in this college can only be admitted through JCECE Board Counseling and also JEE Main score card must be required to participate in the counseling round. There are four branches in GEC Palamu and the best one is CSE for tech-wondering students. GEC Palamu is in the developing phase because it is the newest Government Engineering College of Jharkhand established in 2022 and till now not a single batch has graduated yet.

There are four branches in this college (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Electronics and computer science). The entry requirements are as follows: 1. JEE score card and the percentage should be above 80 and between 87. 2. Appear for JCECE counseling after the JEE Main exam or you can also opt for direct admission in the last round of JCECE. The Eligibility criteria for taking admission into Government Engineering College Palamu is either you have the current year JEE Score card. 2. JCECE counseling allotment letter. 3. If allotment is through category quota, then you have to produce caste Certificate and current year income certificate. My motive was to pursue Engineering in B.Tech degree through government college.

All faculties are well experienced and are hired from BIT Sindri Dhanbad. Their style of teaching to the students is so good that they are like friends and personal mentors and discuss very clearly about all the problems whether it is personal or subject related. For every branch there are specific faculties and professors to mentor specific allotted subjects. Labs are also well-furnished for the students.

Yes, we have our own Placement Cell in our college which helps students to get their dream jobs but talking about the placements, the batches in this institute have not graduated yet but we will expect good placement opportunities in this college because it is the second college in Jharkhand.

Yes, our college has a residential facility. Girls and boys have their own separate hostels. For staff and professors, there are quarter room buildings there. 24×7 electricity facilities and medical rooms are in our college for treatment and medicines in an emergency. Hostel mess is also running in the ground floor of every hostel building.

The academic building is designed by highly qualified professional engineers. It is designed in a decent style. The hostels are on the 7th floor. There are so many classrooms, labs, medical rooms, and auditoriums. The college is built in a 7.65 acre of land making it so unique and good for studying. It is located just nearby the main road which connects the college to Medini Nagar administrative headquarter and Panki sub district of Palamu district.

Fests are also organised on a weekly basis so that the student life doesn’t get boring. So many clubs are there in GEC Palamu like (Sandhan club, CO club, Sports club, Science and Innovation Club, Arts and Cultural Club, etc.) Overall, campus life is good, and competitions are also being held at the college level and JUT level.
