My experience at Government Engineering College, Palamu

Overall Rating
Government Engineering College comes under JUT Board Ranchi. There are no placement records as of now because the college was started in 2022. Therefore, no student has graduated yet, but it has been said by the principal that all the students will be sent to the BIT Sindri College for placements. The faculties are helpful and very supportive. They are also well-qualified and knowledgeable.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing Mechanical Engineering, and the academics are good. To get admission in the college, one has to clear JEE Main examination with the minimum required percentile in the college and overall rank. If a student pays good attention in the classes and is regular, he can do very well in the examinations. The curriculum is a little outdated but new subject have been added to keep it relevant.
 

Faculty Rating
The teachers are all well-qualified and all the subjects are taught in the class. In Government Engineering College, Palamu, all the faculty members are good and friendly with the students.
 

Placement Rating
The college is new and so no batch has graduated yet. The placement scene is very uncertain due to that. The Training and Placements Cell is also very inactive. So, the students will have to put their efforts as well and make as many connections as possible to know about the job and internship opportunities.
 

Hostel Rating
The infrastructure of the hostel is really good. Our college has 3 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. The hostel fee is Rs.9, 500/- per year. The room is available with 3 beds, tables, 3 chairs, and 3 cupboards for 3 students. Water and electricity are available 24 hours a day. The mess fee is Rs.3,900/- per month. The quality of the meal is average as compared to the charges students pay.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are various facilities such as libraries with well-stocked books and other necessary facilities. Due to college being new, the campus is well-maintained. Overall, I would say the infrastructure is good.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is average.

    I chose to take admission in Government Engineering College, Palamu because it is the 2nd government engineering College in Jharkhand which comes under JUT Board Ranchi and it is fully funded by Jharkhand Government. Whoever wants to take admission in this college can only be admitted through JCECE Board Counseling and also JEE Main score card must be required to participate in the counseling round.
