Coimbatore Medical College is a prestigious Institution located in the hotspot of Coimbatore. It is a mix of rigorous academic training, practical exposure and extracurricular activities. I particularly chose this college because I am from Tripura and its near to my house. For UG any medical college is perfect but choosing a college which has both academic excellence and freedom is more important than stressing on top Institutions so it's wise to choose Coimbatore medical College as compared to many top colleges with 250 seats. This is because it has very few specific guide answers as compared to Coimbatore College which is now has 200 capacity.

MBBS course is 5.5 year course which is the biggest time duration course in our country. It is worth as it might take a very long time but the knowledge you are going to gain during the process is everything. To get admission you need a minimum of 650 or above in OC and above 635 BC is necessary to get into Coimbatore medical College. We must apply for all India counseling and Tamil Nadu medical association counsels which is conducted by MGR University.

The faculty of this college is very friendly and we can ask doubts whenever we want. There is a mentorship program going on in our college. In this program each mentor is for a specific student so that they can clarify others. There are a lot of experienced faculties from whom we can ask as many doubts as we want. Their knowledge in clinical aspects is extraordinary and the building has no comparison to our Coimbatore Medical college. Now due to increase in courses our batch, the buildings have been renovated.

No, there is no placement available in our college. We have to write specific entrance exam for each placement. There is a PG NEET exam coming but there is internship availability in our college for 1 year with the Stipend of 28,000 per month.

Hostel is available for the UG students. Initially for one room will be allotted to 3 students and it is very important to interact with students and make friends. Students need to pay a security deposit of 5000 which will be refunded later and miscible which includes electricity bill, hostel bill and food bill. Including all these bills it costs us around 6000 per month. There is a strict anti ragging society in our college so there is no chance for ragging. Seniors here are very friendly and they help us in academic and sports activities.

The infrastructure of Coimbatore medical College has improved a lot. After the change almost 150 to 200 students are increased per year. There is an academic block for the academic purpose and new hostel blocks have been built. The laboratory has been newly constructed so all new facilities can be seen in the laboratory. There is new canteen coming up. The store facilities are also available in our college. Parking facility is there for steps and also students. Participation in sports activities are encouraged in our college. There is a huge ground where we can play football, cricket, badminton, etc. Various cultural activities also take place all the time.

There are various cultural and sports activities including annual fees sports competitions and clubs that allowed students to explore interest outside academics. It also helps us to engage in various activities like blood bank, NSS, etc. This is very supportive in that and also there is a separate cultural secretariat and sports secretary with whom we can interact and ask for chances and improve our social life. We can also enclave in mini group activities like quiz competitions in other colleges and sports activities, etc. Our college organizes random events that we can also participate in.
