My experience in the institute is very good. First of all the Indian Institute of Information Technology is situated in-between the hills in Imphal Valley under the beauty of mother nature. No pollution, fresh air, fresh water would give you internal peace instantly. All the professors are good and friendly, the medium of education is in English language and every vendor outside understands Hindi so there is no language barrier. Overall, anyone who comes here enjoys their time in the city. There are almost 800 students of which 70 are female students.

There are 4 courses in the B.Tech program, 1) CSE, 2) CSE with specialization in AI and DS, 3) ECE, 4) ECE with specialization in VLSI and Embedded Systems. Entry requirements are 1) should have completed 12th with more than 75%. 2) Should have cleared JEE Main. The professors are exceptionally well. Many students under them have cleared the GATE exam and got good placements. The notes of the professors are sufficient enough for any engineering competitive examination.

All the professors are well qualified; most of them have done research from the premier universities in the country or abroad (South Korea, Japan, Germany). They are all helpful and if anyone wants to pursue higher studies then they can easily do so under their guidance. HOD of CS department has more than 15 years of experience in teaching and he has done his Ph.D from Jadhavpur University. HOD of EC department has more than 10 years of teaching experience and has completed his Ph.D from IIT Guwahati. Most of the teachers belong to the Meitei community. Every professor is hardworking, knowledgeable and punctual.

Yes, we have a dedicated faculty for Placement Cell. For the 2023 batch, the highest placement was 12 LPA and the lowest was 8 LPA. The placement percentage was 81.5%. For the 2024 batch, the highest placement was 40 LPA and lowest was 6 LPA and placement percentage was 76.2%.

There are nine boys’ hostels and one girl's hostel in total. 8 of them are directly owned by the institute and 2 are taken on rent. The rooms are 3-seater and 4-seater, and all hostel rooms are in good condition and have a lot of space for accommodation of 4 students. The toilets and bathrooms are cleaned every day. We have a washing machine, and geysers installed in every single hostel. We have a ground which is not big but sufficient enough to play cricket and football. We have 1 basketball court, 2 badminton courts. Food in the mess is average but apart from that, everything is up to mark. It is one of the best hostels you can get in the country.

We have highly equipped and air-conditioned labs both for EC and CS departments. We have two normal working labs for Analog EC, one VLSI dedicated lab for cadence and two Digital Communication labs. We have three labs for the CS department. Labs are highly equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment. We have air-conditioned classrooms. Our temporary campus is small in size, and the overall size of the institute is 10 acres. A new campus is under construction in Senapati district, and it is estimated that the construction will be completed by 2025.

Campus life is good and there is multiple tech, cultural and sports clubs in the institute. Multiple cultural events take place throughout the year; one Tech-fest named Ahouba took place last year, where multiple tech related competitions took place. The students come from all over India and the majority of the students come from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. There is a strong coding environment in the institute.
