The VMMC and Safdarjung hospital, located in Delhi. This particular college is a dream of many students so this itself says a lot about the college. It is a very fabulous college having its own positives and negatives but the positives surely surpass the negatives. The positives start with the reputation of The Safdarjung hospital having a daily patient flow of 12,000 people. So the doctors, faculties, staff are very experienced, and so you will get practical exposure there. The college was established in 2001 and in such a short span of time. It has achieved a lot and is standing in competition with colleges which are much older. The negative is that you might feel that the campus is smaller in comparison to the other colleges but it’s not that small. It is big enough to handle 12,000 patients on a daily basis. Apart from that, everything is good and also the biggest positive part about this college is that they have higher PG quota compared to other colleges in Delhi.

There are many courses that VMMC offers such as MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing, etc. To pursue MBBS, you need to clear NEET with a really good rank to be in this college. In top 1,000 rank if you are not from Delhi and under 5,000 if you are from Delhi. The fee is slightly high as compared to other Delhi Medical Colleges and it is around Rs.50, 000/- per year. But it offers students a PG quota which nullifies the fee. One advice would be that students who aspire to be a doctor shouldn’t just think about the money they are going to make, rather also become good human beings to help other people as a doctor.

The subjects seem very hard in the first year itself, but the faculties are so good that you will slowly start enjoying it, especially the practical part. The whole team of JRs and SRs of specific subjects are very interactive and helpful. You can reach out to them anytime you want. Many of the professors have either a YouTube channel which has lakhs of subscribers or a part of big online coaching platforms like prep ladder, unacademy, etc. You will also have professors with rank 1 in their UPSC exam. Their teaching style is good, and their personality is also nice.

Yes, they do have a hostel facility. 2 hostels are for boys, 1 for girls and 1 for resident doctors. The food at the hostel is decent and you can easily get groceries at a very reasonable cost. So don't worry about the food, that will be much sorted, and you can also order from Zomato or Swiggy and they will deliver it to the hostel directly.

You will find a big OPD building, super specialty block, trauma center, eye center, emergency block, burn center, sports injury center, etc. There is an academic building, alongside a library for the students that is open 24x7. You will find guards more or less everywhere in the whole campus, so safety wise it's very good and around 6 to 10 canteens and snack bars around the campus. A bank on the campus, nets for cricket practice, an area for badminton and volleyball. There is a lot to explore in the campus.

Campus life is very chill in the college. You will find many societies related to art, music, dance, literature, sports, drama, fashion, quiz, etc. So, all these things will make you engaged very quickly. Recently, the college has a turf for cricket so it will make things more interesting. Every year a fest named Nirvana is organised where many celebrities come to perform. Recently we had Ajay Hooda, Harsh Gujral in the fest. There is a lot of fun in college.
