Benefits of Studying at SKIT Jaipur: Autonomous Curriculum and Placement Success

SKIT College, Jaipur is overall a great college. Academically, it is great. The faculties are experienced and cover the syllabus nicely. Since the institute is now autonomous, some additional courses have been added which are great for extra learning on topics of general knowledge. There are events happening almost every day which cover a wide area of genres. Infrastructure is great, hostel facilities are nice, faculties are supportive and co-curricular activities are also there. Placement drive is also nice.

SKIT College is now autonomous; hence, syllabus is improvised and a bit different from that of RTU. There is overall 166 credit points need to earn in 4 years. There are common subjects in the first year and all are useful in later life in some way or the other. Course related syllabus starts from the 2nd year. Curriculum is set in such a way that students are most likely not to get failed. There are also tutorials classes set for subjects where numerical-based questions are a part. Also, there are more than 100 labs across all subjects for students.

SKIT College is comparatively an affordable institute across all economic circumstances. For example, the fees for CSE with Data Science course per semester are Rs. 58,000. There is an additional fee for appearing in end term examination which is Rs. 7000. For those whose conveyance is institute bus, annual fee is Rs. 32000.

Faculties are mostly experienced and supportive, lenient even. They teach nicely and conduct doubt sessions. They are supportive at the time of unit tests and assignments. They cover syllabus on time and give practice questions during tutorial classes. Most of the teachers are Ph.D holders in their respective subjects of expertise. Teacher-student ratio of institute is also very adequate. The teachers are approachable and conduct doubt sessions nicely. At times, they are also strict if required.

Some of the infrastructure of SKIT College is under construction as of December 2024. Apart from that, the institute building is vast and in accordance with the student ratio. There are libraries, canteen, many labs, auditoriums, seminar halls, conference halls, and vast number of classrooms, sports complex, open ground, courts for basketball & volleyball, and many blocks with many classrooms. However, SKIT College lacks a bit in the infrastructure area due to its small region with comparison to other institute in Jaipur. That is hoped to be solved soon with the completion of the remaining construction.

Overall campus life is average. However, it is not too mediocre even. Institute crowd is mostly intelligent and from the rural areas of Rajasthan, since 75% vacancies are given to natives. There are many clubs in SKIT College, - dance, music, sports, leadership, science & tech, literary, coding, NSS, NCC, etc. I am a part of the music club and wish to join the NCC club in my 2nd semester. Extracurricular activities keep happening 3-4 times a week. Also, there is a very famous SKIT fest which goes by the name of Pravah, where there are a lot of engaging activities and celebrity’s night. Overall, campus life experience is alright.
