A Yearly Cultural Fest of NIT Kurukshetra is Known as 'Confluence'

My experience at NIT Kurukshetra has been good. The campus is really very nice, extremely peaceful, and beautiful. It is a kind of place where you do not feel too overwhelmed which I think helps. One of the main reasons I chose this Institute was due to its decent NIRF ranking (around 50 that time now 81) which gave me confidence about the academics. However, apart from that the campus environment also mattered a lot to me. What I personally feel is different here is how peaceful everything is. It is not too crowded or chaotic and you get your own space. So yeah, if someone is looking for a decent Institute with calm and comfortable life, it is a good option.

I chose Computer Engineering mainly because I have always been interested in tech, especially coding and how software actually works behind the scenes. In addition, it has a good career scope so it felt like a safe and practical choice for future. For getting into the Institute, you need a good percentile in JEE Main, depending on your category & reservation. The admission process is through JoSAA counselling. We usually have one end semester exam and two mid semester exams; also. There are practicals, assignments, and much more.

The fees for the course mainly depends on you category and income per year. For general category students it is roughly around Rs. 1,60,000/- per year (Institute fees). Apart from this the hostel fees per year is Rs. 70,000/-. For students from lower family income groups or reserved category, the fee is much lesser.

Talking about the faculty, they are honestly pretty decent. All of them are well educated and have a strong background in their subjects so knowledge wise there is no issue. The teaching style really depends on the professor. At the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, the student to teacher ratio is 80:1. When it comes to doubt clearing, they are helpful, but you have to make an effort, you not always get personal attention.

Yes, there is a Placement Cell in the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra and it plays a very important role. Every year, a good number of companies visit the campus.

Yes, the Institute does provide residential facilities. There are separate hostel for girls and boys so that is well managed. The hostels are decent overall. Hygiene is generally good. The hostel fee is Rs. 70,000/- per year including mess and electricity bill. The mess food is also decent.

The campus is quite big, having around 300 acres in area. It is really spacious and green. It is located in a calm area, which makes it good for living as well as studying. The academics blocks are well built and properly maintained. All the important facilities like library, labs, halls, auditorium, conference halls, and so on are provided to the students. Apart from academics, the campus has everything you may need (mall, canteens, juice centre, etc). Overall, the infrastructure supports academics very well.

Overall campus life is really nice. It is not too hectic all the time so you get a nice balance between study and fun. There are many societies and clubs in the Institute covering various interests. Therefore, there is always something happening & you can join based on what you like. There are two main fests of our Institute one cultural fest (Confluence) and other technical fest (Tech-Spardha).
