MNLU Aurangabad: Placement Opportunities Improving YoY

It is a decent university in terms of education and other facilities provided. Being an NLU, the university will give you various perks. It is in a developing phase as of December 2024 but in a few years, most of the infrastructure will be ready. Apart from this, the university provides free subscription to various law journals and websites which are paid. The University also has good residential facilities for both boys and girls. The hostels are newly built and are within the campus of the university.

The university provides B.A.LL.B (Hons.), B.B.A.LL.B (Hons.), and other PG Diploma Courses. Admission to the Law Courses is on the basis of CLAT counseling rounds. The course curriculum is designed comprehensively. It also includes practical learning modules. There are two exams in a semester i.e., Mid Term (25 marks) and End Term (50 marks). The remaining 25 marks are allocated for the project/research paper and viva voce. Each semester is of 4 months i.e., January to April and July to October. The students are required to undergo mandatory internships during the summer and winter breaks. i.e., May to June and November to December.

The yearly fee is about Rs. 2.5 Lakh excluding the mess fees. The fee in subsequent years is somewhat lower as the fee in the first year is inclusive of refundable deposits. The university fees have to be paid per semester. There are various scholarship schemes in Maharashtra National Law University. Students of Maharashtra belonging to SC and ST communities are provided free ship, they only have to pay hostel and mess fees. Students other than Maharashtra state may also avail scholarships depending upon the eligibility criteria of their respective state and Maharashtra state. There is a dedicated Scholarship Committee in the university to assist the students.

The faculty of Maharashtra National Law University is decent. Most of the faculties are alumni of prestigious institutes. Many of them have good achievements in terms of research paper publication, book publication, etc. Sometimes there may be more than 1 faculty for the same subject. The teaching method varies from professor to professor. The faculty in general is approachable. Apart from teaching faculty, assistant faculties are also there to help students solve their doubts. The students can also ask for assistance in completing research / project works, etc.

The Placement in the university is below average. The university has a dedicated Placement Cell which helps students to get interview calls and also assists in securing internships. Every year the university releases a placement brochure. In coming years it is expected that more students will get placed.

The university provides residential facilities to both boys and girls. There are 2 hostels as of December 2024. The boy's hostel is 2-3 years old and the girl's hostel is newly inaugurated. Each hostel has a capacity of about 500 students. The hostels are in good condition as they are newly built. Hostel entry timings are 10 PM. Mess food quality is average. It serves both veg and non-veg food. There is no separate canteen but the students may avail other food items in the mess by paying additional charges. Hostel fees are Rs. 30000 yearly. There is also a gym facility and recreation room for both hostels.

The university has a Centre of Excellence building and two hostels currently. Other buildings are under construction. The library is situated on the 2nd floor of the Centre of Excellence building and is equipped with a smart kiosk with a good collection of books of various domains. Medical Facility is provided to the students at the campus. A doctor visits the hostel every day. An ambulance is present in case of emergency. A seminar hall is also present in the center of excellence building.

Campus life is average as the university is in the developing phase and due to ongoing construction. However, there are various clubs, societies, committees, and centers in the university. One may join them according to their interests. The student clubs celebrate festivals. Also, the university administration allots funds for various festivals. Apart from festivals, academic competitions are also held each year. It includes the National Youth Parliament, Client Counselling, Moot courts, etc.
