Bhim Rao Ambedkar University: Affordable Fees with A+ NAAC Accreditation

Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University turned out to be much better than I expected. Initially, I was hesitant but it has become a good University for studies and activities. I chose this University because it has good infrastructure and facilities compared to other government colleges and that too at a nominal fee. The tuition and exam fee are all very reasonable and the teachers are helpful. Especially after getting an A+ NAAC accreditation, this University is becoming the best University for serious studies in Agra.

I was interested in pursuing statistics as it is the core of data analysis and is a requirement for statistical exams. So, I chose Master of Statistics (M.STAT). The eligibility was Bachelor's Degree in mathematics or Statistics with 45 percent marks or a Master's in Mathematics or Statistics. The admission process requires web registration through the University's website. Then we get an email and SMS message stating the reporting time and required documents. We need to report to the department at a given time. M.Stat consists of 4-semester examinations. There are internal exams and assignments as well. Honestly, There is an assignment that many times involves making presentations or gaining experience in statistical software. These activities are helpful in increasing our confidence to major extent.

I Paid a total of Rs. 6,500 in a semester. I paid about Rs. 4,000 rupees as tuition fees and about Rs. 2,500 as exam fee per semester. There is no relaxation in this course for different categories. There are no scholarships available for this course.

We have very helpful faculty members. Prof. Vineeta Singh (HOD, Department of Statistics) and Dr. Ranjana Gupta is the main teachers in our Course. They are very Supportive. Vineeta Mam has a rich background in Statistical software and the Design of experiments. Ranjana Mam is also very experienced and has a background in Operations research. Faculties use whiteboards, PPTs, and Tutorials (Discussions) to teach the concepts. The faculties are well equipped to solve all the domain-specific or other problems of students. The teacher-student ratio is one area that is not great in DBRAU. It needs more teachers, especially in Statistics. The faculties are very friendly and approachable. They patiently attend to the problem of students.

Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra has a moderately large structure spread across different parts of Agra city. There are four Campuses. Paliwal Park Campus Consists of various academic buildings like the University of Social Science, University of Library Science, etc. Khandari Campus houses the Engineering and all the Science buildings. Chhalesar Campus consists of the University of Pharmacy and the Department of Physical Education along with other buildings. Most Classrooms are moderately sized (for 50 students). There are various libraries on the campus. The main one being the Central Library on the Paliwal Park campus. The Canteens offer snacks and other items and are present on every campus. The sports and transportation facilities are not up to the mark but there is a free University health center which is good. I love the fact that there are well-maintained libraries and computer labs. Computer labs and availability or statistical software helps the most in my Course.

My overall campus life is pretty good so far. There are most of the facilities that I need for studies. There is a good atmosphere. The college crowd is well behaved and fun loving. There are regular non academic events like debates, etc. which are helpful. I take part in most of debates. The University also focuses on celebrating and doing an event on each day of cultural importance .There is Uni fest which happens everywhere and is an attraction. Essentially, my Campus life is quite good and much better than the other Universities in this city.
