Alliance University BBA Review By Bhupendra Meena

For outsiders like us it’s a lesson that students should never get attracted to fancy ads or websites. I have been one victim of that as I forced my parents to send me to Bangalore and in return, I was forced by our teachers to do assignments over and again and attend the seminars which were of no use. Alliance University Bangalore is for those who fail to get admissions elsewhere as there is no criteria defined for admissions here. Students with around 50% or 6 CGPA’s were also allowed to take admissions here. The good thing about the university is its infrastructure which many colleges and universities in Bangalore anyways has. Till you pay the fees before time, you will stay in managements good books otherwise they are quite rude. I should have connected with alumni on some social media platforms rather than forcing my parents to take me there and get my admissions done. Even the chances for placements are limited and for training they do a mentorship program which is chargeable. Students were literally forced to join that program but trust me, it was of no use.

If there were any other reasons, I wouldn’t have cursed the college but to date I regret my decision of joining this college because they have made attendance and internals compulsory because those who fail are charged heavily. If you do nothing in the classes why would students come? Well, then the attendance will always be short and the college will get an opportunity to levy fine on such students. Classes can withhold anytime as the management issues are always there. If someone wants to take my advice and learn from my mistakes, join Christ, Jain, or St. Joseph college. There’s no point wasting parent’s money on such university.

They were on a sweet spot because they were good but due to management issues, they got more rest than they would have imagined. The university also used to send the faculties to mentorship programs. Even they used to say that the program was a waste but they can’t deny the management orders. Some even used to joke that because we all are married; we know how to obey the orders. So, with faculties we had fun because studies were anyways lying somewhere in the drain and came out only when the weather was good.

Forget about BBA but even MBA students who paid over 10 lakhs in fees were crying for placements. My parents told me not to change college now as I should do MBA too from here. With a heavy heart, I told them that I would rather start a small start-up than joining MBA here. That start-up might give more return than the fees that I will invest in MBA. Talking about BBA, we were sent for a paid training or mentorship program but that also didn’t worked because we were just taught communication skills in that and only one quality or skill can’t land jobs. There’s not much arsenal in their armoury to get students placed.

Alliance University hostels were millennial as there were four residential halls for boys in all. One had single rooms, two halls had rooms on double sharing and one with three students sharing the rooms. The halls of residence building were just too good and trust me I was itching to go back to the hostels after the classes. We had various facilities at the hostels such as indoor gaming room, a TV room, a washing room, and a small library. Whoever has designed this needs a standing ovation because the infrastructure part of not just the hostels but otherwise too is fabulous. How can I forget hostel food as it was amazing too and we had feast every Sunday’s.

So many beautiful places so where do I begin? I think of one thing and simultaneously think of the other. Well, one can complain about the overall infrastructure of Bangalore but here even the critical critics will find it tough to point out a single flaw. The campus roads that are wide and far are amazing. Bangalore has over 100mm of rain every year and therefore water logging has been seen as an issue but not at Alliance University. The drainage is so well planned that we never faced that issue. The sporting facilities of the campus are great too. Frisbee was in trend 5 years from now and every evening we used to play frisbee in the college ground. Other than that, there were running tracks, badminton courts, and basketball courts at the campus.

The top crowd among all the universities of Bangalore can be seen at Alliance University. The entire campus was sound and secure so any chance of quarrel was just not possible inside the campus. There are many events from sports to literary fests but the biggest of them all was the cultural fest Alliance Carnival which was celebrated at the campus with huge enthusiasm.
