AMPGC Varanasi: A Premier Women's College Affiliated with BHU

Arya Mahila Post Graduate College (AMPGC), established in 1956. It is affiliated to Banaras Hindu University. This college is dedicated to women's education in Chetganj, Varanasi. It provides high quality education and infrastructure with minimum fees of Rs. 10,800 and additional fee of Rs. 500 for practical like Psychology in comparison and well supportive faculty. It should provide free Wi-Fi to students as well. There is a scope to improve the outdoor ground and overall infrastructure.

AMPGC offers bachelor's degree in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (English, Hindi, Philosophy, Psychology, etc), Sciences (Home science), Commerce (B.Com, Economics), Computer Application and IT (DCA), Education (B.ED), Post Graduation and Doctorate in various courses. The admission of B.A (Hons.) Social Sciences is done through the CUET and merit list prepared by the Banaras Hindu University with the Eligibility criteria of 45% marks in the 10+2. It provides opportunity to learn theories with separate practical work and assessment particularly in the course of Psychology.

I enrolled in the B.A (HONS) Social Science Psychology. It offers an affordable fee structure for regular seats as follows Rs.10,800 per semester, additional Rs. 500 for practical course, additional Alumni fee in the last Semester is charged. For paid seats additional Rs. 10,000 is charged. It provides coaching for UPSC and state PCS exams with excellent and well qualified faculty. The semester fee is same for all perhaps it provides semester wise scholarship to the residents or Uttar Pradesh.

Faculty is comprised of Professors and academicians experienced and well qualified in their respective fields. They are supportive, kind and helpful. They are curious and well aware of updates and recent changes, research and development. They are bilingual and most of them teach in the way by which we understand and remember the concepts easily. They regularly and punctually conduct classes, always ready to solve the doubts and provide various techniques that are needed with the right learning.

AMPGC do not offer campus placement for this course. Perhaps the placement cell is active and it provides placement for other programs.

It doesn't provide hostel facility but there are a lot of private hostels, PG and rental rooms that are available at affordable prices.

The campus is small, well maintained, and clean. It provides a range of facilities to support academics and extracurricular activities like - Library with vast collection of books, journals and digital resources. Laboratories - equipped with modern instruments, Auditorium - venue for seminars, workshops, cultural events and college fest. Cafeteria - offers a variety of hygienic food options. Gym, Computer Lab equipped with Wi-Fi and air conditioning- facilitates. The access of wide range of digital resources, sports facilities and lifts are provided.

The campus life and crowd is satisfactory. It provides exposure to clubs like debate, and others. There is an annual fest celebrated in the college and it provides exposure to various workshops and counseling centre. It also conducts annual sports festival for both students and faculties separately that are very engaging. There is a scope of improvement for exposure in terms of placement, infrastructure, annual festival, gym and sports. It should provide the access to all blocks of Library to each student regardless of their course. As it is affiliated to Banaras Hindu University it should provide hostel and improved canteen in future.
