Understanding the Admission Process at BIT Durg

BIT Durg, it’s an engineering institute. The institute is quite simple, small and sober. The campus of this institute is maximum of 40 acres. It has many other courses too but I have taken B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with specialization in Artificial Intelligence branch. This institute is completely a zero fest institute. You'll only do studies here. I decided to go to this institute because I had heard a lot from other people about this institute. This institute was great in the initial times.

I have chosen B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with specialization in Artificial Intelligence branch. I chose this because it's a new and upgrading field as AI is going to be in trend in few years, that's why I would prefer students to go for the same if they want Computer Science branch. To get admission in Bhilai Institute of Technology, you have to qualify for the entrance examination i.e. the JEE Mains for students across India and if you are residential in Chhattisgarh, you can also give CGPET examination for admission in this institute. The admission process is simple, once you got selected in the counseling period, you have to print out the allotment letter and bring required documents that will be asked at the beginning and come to the institute and fill the admission form and pay the fee. So, there is semester type examination in this institute, and every semester has 2 internal examinations too called CTs. The first CT is of 40 marks and the second CT is of 60 marks. Then there is final examination i.e. the semester examination and after that, you'll have practical of each subject. So, it's a very busy scheduled institute.

The fee of B.Tech course is quite fixed, here, the fees of one semester is Rs. 40,000 i.e. Rs. 80,000 a year. Only Rs. 40,000 are required without any other registration fees during admission, but yes, you'll have to pay an amount of like Rs. 4,000- Rs. 5,000 once when you enroll yourself for semester examination. No discount for category students, admission amount is same for everyone. But yes, you will get scholarship every semester for the category students of Rs. 25,000. There are also a lot of other scholarship programs for different categories like sports quota, topper quota, etc.

The faculty of Bhilai Institute of Technology is average. They are intelligent, smart, but they are not good at teaching. Not everyone, but most of them are average. They teach in both black board and projectors, sometimes through ppts too. They are smart so they can solve problems easily. Each year, over 700 students get admission in Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg. I have great bonding with some teachers and they are so good and helpful. They help us in every situation.

The placement does exist in BIT Durg. But they are unknown to many students as they don't have an active placement cell. Throughout my 2nd year journey, I have seen zero programs done by placement cell related to placements. Many renowned companies that visit BIT Durg are HDFC Bank, Accenture, and more. The top package of Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg is 5 lakh, and average is 3 lakh.

Yes, Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg has its own hostel for both girls and boys. The boy’s hostel is inside the campus and girl’s hostel is outside the campus. The boy’s hostel is divided into 3 parts i.e. for first year, second year and the third one is for both third and fourth year students. Each hostel is separated, and every hostel has 3 wings inside it, like first year hostel has 1-10 wing, 10-17 wing and last one is 100 wings. Similarly, second year has 30s, 80s and 90s wing and the third and final year hostel has also three wings like them. The mess is inside the campus and they provide food for all 3 times, the food is quite eatable and not so tasty. The food is hygienically made. The fees of the hostel is Rs. 40,000 per semester i.e. same as the institute fees. First year students are allowed to go outside the hostel till 6:00 pm at evening and rest of the year are allowed till 10:30 pm at evening. My overall experience at the hostel was average.

The campus of Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg is small and simple. It's of 40 acres land size and there are same shaped blocks for every branch and department with an administrative block at the center . The classrooms are quite sober; it has the capacity of 70-80 students with installed projectors in each class along with green board. There is a library in the top of the admin block and each lab of each branch has been inside the same branch block. There is a seminar hall also along with two auditoriums, one is the open auditorium and the second one is the closed auditorium. There is a small canteen also inside the campus which always gets crowded during institute time. There is a sports complex where students play sports. There are badminton and table tennis courts also. And also the medical room where you can get prescription from the doctor. My favorite part of this institute is the auditorium, it feels better to sit inside it. The labs, halls and classroom are great in this institute.

My overall campus life is quite boring as it is very small. As the institute campus is small, that's why there was a great crowd. The complete campus gets filled during institute days as it's very small. Yes, there are more than 16 clubs in this institute like dance, music and event clubs. I'm a part of the event club along with the branch association. There are no extracurricular activities done by the institute as it is a zero fest institute. There is only one fest that happens every year in this institute and that is the OJAS, it's a tech fest. It goes of 2 days. I had an average experience at this institute.
