GGU Bilaspur Placement Cell: How Effective it is

My overall experience at this university is good quite. The environment is soothing and calm which provides a better way for studies. I have chosen this university as all the basics facilities which are required to be in a university are available here. Amenities like Playground, Central Library, Cafeteria and a lot more. One major difference here which made me choose this university as political environment is minimal here.

I am pursuing B.A English Hons., here and my motive for enrolling in this course is the love for literature and I wanted in depth knowledge of English as a subject and it's different parts and branches. 12th pass students from any stream can apply for this course through CUET UG. They must give General Test + English to be eligible for merit and to get admission in this. This university follows semester pattern and exams are held frequently after 5 months depending on classes run. The academics help to prepare me to be more agile and keeps my knowledge broader about my specific subject.

The fees of my chosen course is overall Rs.20,000/- - Rs.23,000/- for full course. At the time of admission Rs.6,000/- will be charged including tuition fees and all. Sudama Yojana recently started to provide respite to BPL card holders. Scholarships of state government and university are also available.

There are several faculty members who are teaching my course. They are extremely qualified and talented. Most of them are from BHU. They mostly teach on blackboard but smart class room is there for special reference classes. The problem solving ability is quite good and they are cooperative. 36:1 is the student to teacher ratio. My experiences with the faculty members are quite good because they show dedication to solve queries.

Placement cell is there in my university but there is a doubt regarding that how much they are active or not. Placement is mainly there in B.Tech courses especially CSE and ECE. Most of students from B.Tech pursues higher studies by preparing for GATE exam. For UG courses like B.Sc., BA, B.Com, BBA there are no placements so far.

Yeah, my university offers residential facility There are overall 4-5 hostels are there for boys and for girls there are three. Mess food is not quite good. It is okay. Hostels annually fees is Rs.12,000/- per year. Mess fees are for 3 months quarterly.

A sufficient number of academic blocks are present in my university. Separate blocks of engineering departments are there like CSE, even, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. This campus is spread in about 650 acres and it is situated in outskirts of Bilaspur that is in Koni. All academic facilities are available including library, labs, auditorium but central library is the best one among that. Cafeteria and sports facilities are also there. Medical and transportation facilities are not up to the mark. You have to be self-sufficient in this. No proper treatment is available in health center. My favourite place is Central Library which helps and complies with my course and aim of study.

My campus life is quite decent I will rate it 6/10. College crowd is also quite good. There are different clubs also in this university like Dance and Singing eg. Abhinartaan etc. I am not part of anyone. Clubs of studies is missing that's a negative point of this university. It will not provide that environment of competitive arena. It needs overhauling in these types of activities. Fests of different schools are also being organized in two years like that. My experience in this university is decent but not what I want fully.
