Overall Rating
Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology Burla is the oldest engineering college in Odisha. It has a good image of being best, oldest and for its placement rate. It has average placement rate of 80% and depends according to the branch. In Mechanical Engineering department it has a placement rate of 95%. Its infrastructure is also better than any other state government engineering college in Odisha. The quality of education in best than any other state government engineering college.
 

Academics Rating
I am in Mechanical Engineering department of this college. For joining Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology Burla, you have clear either JEE mains or OJEE exam. The College comes under OJEE counseling. Minimum 12th percentage required is 45%. In college semester wise exams take place in total there are total 4 exams. Exams are easy to medium difficulty level and one can secure good marks easily by doing previous year question papers and module reading.
Tuition fee of our college is Rs.41,000/-. For the students who got tuition fee waiver seats (TFW) they have pay Rs.31,000/-. Registration fee is Rs.10,000/- in OJEE counseling when going for a college in any round. For claiming SC / ST tuition fee waiver one has to give respective documents.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties of our college are Ph.D holders and are very supportive of all the students. All faculties experienced and high problem solving abilities. All classrooms have smart boards and are equipped with current technology. Teacher to students ratio in our college is 1:20. All faculties are of above 10 years of experience in college. Some professors are on contractual basis, but teach us energetically. Faculties cover their syllabus within the given time.
 

Placement Rating
There is a dedicated placement cell in our college for guidance in placement to students. Overall Placement rate of our college is 80%. Placement rate varies according to branches. In Mechanical Engineering it's about 95%. Average package in our college is Rs.6.00LPA. Highest package of our college in campus is Rs.25.00 LPA and off campus is Rs.49.00 LPA. Lowest package is Rs.2.80 LPA. For placement there are many private firms who have tied up with college to provide necessary skills to students through their courses.
 

Hostel Rating
Accommodation facilities are available in our college. Almost all students get hostel in our college. In boy’s hostel, rooms are of triple occupancy in 1st year and second year. Girl’s and boy’s hostel are separate. Food quality is above average and hygienic. Mess food is provided 4 times. Hostel fee is Rs.49,000/- annually. For 1st year the in time is of before 6 - 7pm in hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of our college is above average and there are many new infrastructures which are in their last phase of construction. Classrooms are all technology equipped and seating capacity is almost 80 students in each class. For different branches there are different labs, and seminar halls. Campus also has its own auditorium, central library, e-learning centre, sports complex and canteen areas. Near-by places to visit are Hirakud Dam, Ghanteswari Temple and many others.
 

Campus Rating
Many clubs are also there for students to take active part in extra-curricular activities such as robotics club, veer racers club, sports club, etc. Samavesh, Vassuaunt, E-Summit are some of the fests that occurs in our college. Overall it has a great college experience. Samavesh is tech fest, Vassuaunt is our cultural fest and E-Summit is our college fest for entrepreneurship and initiatives for startup culture. Some literary clubs are also available in college.

    In terms of money it's awesome. Faculties are doing well. Campus life will be memorable. Many view points are also nearby. Mess food is better. You have to adjust yourself according to routine. In terms of placements, core branch have better opportunity than CSE. Many food stalls are also available along the college sides.     My overall experience was decent till now. Factors that made me choose this institute was It's 75 year legacy and alumni network. It has a big campus area of about 500 acres.
