Placements at VSSUT Burla: Opportunities for Civil Engineering

My experience at the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha, is quite good until now. The seniors and juniors get along really well. The university is overall very good as it has a lot of clubs and activities to take part. The teachers are quite good in terms of teaching and support. There are a many guests faculty but they are quite good as well.

I have chosen Civil Engineering department here, as it's an oldest department of VSSUT Burla. Anyone with interest in drawing can find this branch quite good, as there are a lot of charts and drawings. I personally admire and respect my seniors of this branch, as they are quite encouraging. When I asked them about their experience in the branch, they told it's quite challenging to pursue B.Tech from this branch as it's requires a lot of time to read all those modules. Therefore, if you are a drawing enthusiast and can take some challenge you should definitely join this branch.

The fee is quite normal, as it should be in average engineering universities. The fee for 1 year on regular basis is around Rs. 45,000 excluding hostel fee. Hostel fee is also Rs. 45,000.

The faculty in Civil Engineering Department is quite good at teaching. They are a lot devoted towards studies. Many professors have completed their PhDs from top universities of India including NITs and IITs. The teachers are quite good in teaching about the charts required to prepare during the site seeing and building planning’s. They also help students in if any problem occurs.

The placement of Civil Engineering Department of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology is quite decent. Generally, average package is around 6 to 7 Lakh annually (it varies each year).

The first year hostel is decent. The university is around 500 to 600 meter away from the hostels. Most of the students prefer walking some prefer an auto.

The campus is built in around 8 to 10 acres, with every department having its own building and labs and all. The classrooms are well designed. All of them have a smart board for proper teaching. the seating capacity is quite good as well. The library is also a very good place for studying and there are a lot and lot of books present for to study. For seminars, there is the Biju Patnaik E-learning Center in which many programs takes place (more of a kind technical activities). There is also a large auditorium for cultural activities of university and for club induction programs as well. There are two cafeterias around the campus and one canteen. My favorite thing is cafeteria as in a fare prices it offers many things. The campus also has a CFC store for any stationary products like notebooks, pen, pencil, practical records and for other purposes also. There are some seating places near the CFC store.

Campus life is a bit normal. There a lot like seriously many clubs around 25+ clubs as there and they are all really good. Some make robots, some spaceships, some 3-D printing, and some Formula Race Cars.
