Affordable Education: Fee Structure and Scholarships at Shyam Lal College

My overall experience of this college is good. Everything was new for me but slowly I adjusted and now everything is good. I didn't choose this particular college, actually I got admission through CUET exam and I had selected many colleges of Delhi University, but according to my CUET score I got this college and I took admission. Every college of Delhi University is different from another and I wanted to be in north campus but I got east campus college which is also not bad.

I have chosen BA HONS. in HISTORY, as it was my favorite subject in school and I wanted to study more about our history. This course teaches us about the ancient history, medieval history with special references to the great authors and writers. The admission process of this college is through CUET only and students who score more the 500 marks out of 800 can easily get admission in this college.

Fees for my course is Rs.24,500/-. Every course has different fee structure, and yes there are benefits to the students of SC, ST, OBC and EWS category. Scholarship benefits are also provided to students every year.

Faculty members including staff members, professors are very cooperative and very nice. They help students whenever needed. Teaching method is on blackboard and through group discussions. Professor’s help students in solving their query whenever students needed and not only in academics but also about life lessons and share their experiences to students. I also had bonding with few professors and they helped me a lot whenever I needed.

Infrastructure of this college is very old and broken in some classes. Many classes have new infrastructure now but some have still the old ones. Classroom's seating capacity is according to the students and courses like in some classes there is seating capacity of 70-80 students and in some classes there is capacity for 100+ students. Library is good, and one can get books of every course easily. Canteen is overpriced and food is not so tasty. My favorite place in the college is amphitheater because it is very peaceful.

This is east Campus of Delhi University and this is a very small campus. College crowd is good, and there are many societies in the college and I am part of Aakrosh (the street play society). Fests and events are very nice and maximum fests start in the month of February. Every society organizes fests in their own way. Overall my experience about the campus life is good. Not so bad not so good.
