Sharda University B.Tech Review By Virat Chauhan

Sharda University is not just yet another university in Knowledge Park but one of the best. If I be honest, the university provides admissions to students who haven’t done well at AIEE, BITSAT, or JEE. I had the lowest of ranks in all three but Sharda University Greater Noida still welcomes students like me with open arms and provided us a campus life that I can only cherish. I am not compelled to write this review but doing it because I genuinely feel that students should know that university has helped many students reach highest of highs through their academics and some really good placements. I am not saying Sharda University will help you lead a successful life ahead but it will help you inch closer towards your goals. The crowd was mix as obviously the intelligent people would never join Sharda University, so at one side the crowd was of average students and on one side there were some dumb people. I am putting myself in that average bracket as even though, I couldn’t find myself placements but I was consistent with my scores and was praised for some of my projects.

Sharda University do provide quality and they have adopted a course that includes industrial training, workshops, and corporate interactions. The corporate people used to come themselves and teach us as our B.Tech program felt like a corporate training program. The university needs a lot of credit for creating this kind of a channel where books, practcials and workshops all were accommodated and students too were not burdened with studies is how the university managed the academic program. There was no rule book but a process which was followed and that made things easier for both students and faculties.

The reason why education at Sharda University is in line with is because of the faculties of the university. The faculties has and with the way they are, it will definitely help the university going forward because they have been given the final authority on taking maximum calls. Students with lesser attendance or students who are failed by just a shade. The faculties take the final call on what to do on such matters. So, a piece of advice for all the students studying there or are planning to study there, maintain good terms with them as I benefitted and lot and I am sure the others too will.

In 2014, the university started a C2C program called Campus to Corporate. So, the mass placements are done through that but obviously the quality of placements are little low. However, the corporate that has joined hands in this program are one of the largest as the likes of TCS, IBM, LensKart, Bosch, and many other tech enabled businesses offered placements to students. The average placements were of 20-25k and maximum that I know were offered were around 40-50k a month. The initial payments didn’t entice me enough to take up the job that I was offered by a tech enabled company and therefore I chucked and decided to move on.

I can judge the hostels, as I stayed there. The only complaint that one can have is that the hostel was expensive otherwise in terms of facilities I have no complaints. Sharda University hostel squad was full of fun-loving students as outsiders made a world of their own at the hostels. We used to have separate hostel events and late-night parties as even the warden used to join us for the celebrations. The hostel had both Ac and non-ac room options and students can choose whichever they want. Not many universities have co-ed mess but at Sharda University both boys and girls could have their meals together.

There are 14 colleges inside Sharda University campus and if the structures of the building were different, the color of the buildings remained the same. The facilities amazed me as the first thing I noticed while entering the campus was a radio station. A college having a radio station was never imagined of from me. If that wasn’t enough, there was a call centre too. Now coming to the things, I loved at the campus were the cafés and the restaurant. The restaurant Lego house is one of the best fast-food restaurants not just inside the campus but since I have tried some close to the campus, I can bet big on Lego house. For coffee lover’s there was a Coffee Day outlet and a Nescafe outlet. For sports there were both indoor and outdoor facilities.

When I put all the pieces together that makes a great campus life, all I see is a gala time spent at the campus. The university’s strength is its extra-curricular activities and I am sorry to not talk about that much thus far. I can blindfold bet on the campus life of Sharda University as the best because outsiders were in numbers and they never felt so at the campus.
