Hostel Facilities at DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar

DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar is good college. in this college, It develops student’s (Personality, Physically, and Mentally). Faculty members are very cooperative and motivate students for studies. It helps them grown in different fields and always available for any kind of study related problem. Some factors help me in choosing this college like staff, students, and facilities. We can participate in various kinds of activities like in sports, Nukkad Natak, GYM, boxing, shooting, acting, quizzes, and many more. There are some clubs in which we can take admission like rotary and red ribbon club in which we help needy people that develop student’s mental awareness. It has good library facility and good condition environment ventilated classroom. The one thing that I find different from other institutes is it is much disciplined and well maintained. students have to follow rules and regulations. They should pray early in the morning. There is also fine for short attendance that is good thing to prevent students from bunking their class and teacher also asks if the student not attend the class more than months. Therefore, it keeps check of the student’s studies. College offers physical development facilities of the students. it also provides coaches if we want to go for some tournament and students are appreciated by giving awards and recognition so it can participate more and more in this kind of activities. For poor students, there are some scholarships also available so students get benefit from that.

I chose B.Com. My motive behind this is to get graduated in Commerce background. I want to get more detailed knowledge of Accounts, Economics, Financial Reporting, and Financial Management. There are some entry requirements for getting admission in college, which is having more than 50% in 12th. If we talk about admission process it is very simple firstly, we have to register ourselves on the portal and pay some registration fees. we have to give 6 exams as per semester there are 6 semester each 3 year. The academics prepare us in real life challenges by giving us more detailed knowledge of concepts and also it provide us jobs and interviews. We study different kind of subjects, which is real life applicable like accounts that is beneficial for accountant. We also study tally that is used in many areas and help in getting us job.

The fee is Rs. 10,800 for 1st year and if we take it as semester wise, it is Rs. 5,400. Tuition fee and other applicable charges are included in this. We just have to pay extra for registration fee that are Rs. 100. Some SC/ST students get scholarship as per reservation criteria. The scholarship is provided to the poor children so that get equal education. In different course areas there is different fee.

Faculty members in my course is trained and experienced. Every teacher has his or her own unique style of teaching. Some teacher use PPTs for teaching, some use blackboards, and some teacher involves students in the discussion areas. Regular test and assignments are conducted. Teachers are available 24 hours, if we have any kind of difficulties in any kind of subject. My bonding was good enough with my faculty members. I feel free to discuss any topic with them. They also motivate us for career growth, what is right, and what is wrong. If I talk about student teacher ratio so for B.Com, it is for every 60 students there are 6 teachers.

DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar provides placement option for different courses. different companies come to take interviews in which many students get selected as per their desired level of jobs. There are some programs also conducted to train students to give interview and develop some speaking skills. In these programs, students participate in different kind of activities it has to prepare themselves. They also demonstrate some presentations and give different task. Mahindra Tech and TCS are some renowned companies that visit the college for recruitment. The package range between minimum 50,000 and maximum 5 LPA.

The college offer residential services also as there is hostel for girl’s to stay. There are two hostels building in which more than 500 students can reside. However, the hostel is available only for girls as the college is only for girls not boys. The quality of mess food is very excellent and good organic food with hygiene. Hostel fee for college is in mid range between Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000. There are some rules for students like no cooking in rooms, no use of electrical appliances, and no bullying & ragging. Students cannot leave hostel without any permission from warden for getting permission it has to write letter to management and sign it.

Campus of DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar is divided into many areas and their academic blocks: A, B, and C that divide block into different areas. There are separate blocks for Commerce, Medical and Non-courses. The locality is surrounded by different kind of flowers and greenery. Campus size is good enough. The seating capacity in each classroom is maximum 60. in each class, there is an AV facility for students. In college, we also have library that is well maintained and each book and entry and exit of student in library is recorded in computer. Library is free from any kind on noise and well-ventilated and proper seating chairs also available. There are many labs and seminar hall as per each course requirement. A big auditorium is available where the functions are celebrated students perform yoga, dance, and drama. Students also get benefit from the canteen as canteen provide various kinds of foods and very hygienic. The guard is available 24 hours at the front and back gate of college. My favorite place in my college is canteen outside area there is good sunlight and a fresh environment available where students sit in there free lecture.

My overall campus life is good as there are many students of different religion caste and everyone is equal here. The college crowd is good. there are many students in different courses enrolled. Yes, there are clubs for student’s development such as Rotary club and Red Ribbon club. It also organizes different kind of activities. I am also a part of Red Ribbon club. it conducts guest lecturers for awareness like HIV, AIDS. There are also some extracurricular activities organized by staff. Youth festival is conducted in which students showcase their talent likes acting, dancing, drama, Nukkad Natak, singing, and yoga. Students celebrate Holi, Diwali, etc. My experience was very good at this college and I created best memories with my friends.
