Overall Rating
Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the best Institutes in Karnataka and has good infrastructure along with highly qualified professionals and neat and clean campus. This Institute is associated with hospital which has high patient load from all over the Karnataka. There is a bit of communication barrier for the people who don't know the local language Kannada but it is manageable.
 

Academics Rating
The admission in Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences is solely on the basis of performance in NEET examination. The Admission process is easy and the staff members here are very helpful. There are internal exams and final exams. Academics prepare us well. There is regular maintenance of attendance as well as marks. The eligibility for final University exams are solely given on the basis of these marks and attendance. Other than academics there are only few events that are organized.
Fee per year in Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences for general category student is Rs. 65,000. It varies according to category and also there are State based scholarships available for students.
 

Faculty Rating
There are ample amount of faculties in each department at Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences. The faculties are well qualified and experienced. These professionals are dedicated in their respective subjects. They are easy to approach and are very humble. Department wise faculty distribution is very good here. All the departments have adequate numbers of professors, assistant professors, associate professors, post graduates, residents and other helping staffs. There is a bit of communication barrier while communicating with some of the staff members.
 

Placement Rating
Students here at Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences get to do internship in Institute itself after passing final year University exams.
 

Hostel Rating
There are separate hostels for boys and girls in Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences. It is good in infrastructure and is well equipped with elevators and mess.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are separate buildings for different departments which are very old now. The campus is very large and is situated outside the city. It is also very clean and green. Classrooms are good with seating capacity for about 150 students. AC’s are there in classroom but they don't work at all or they are switched on only when someone is visiting. The library facility is provided but it is old. The Auditorium is good and there is no gym facility provided.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is ok but don't expect what you see in the movies. Institute crowd mainly contains state people who communicate in Kannada. If you are outsider like me than it will take a few months to get used to it and even you will be able to understand basic terms. There are no clubs here. Only Ganesh Chaturthi and Kannada Rajyotsav are celebrated in whole year.
