Academic Excellence at KLE JGMMMC Hubli

My experience in KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorusavirmath Medical College and Hospital has been good. My peers are amazing and we have only one senior batch above us, we are the 2nd batch of this college. This college is under a very prestigious university which is KLE and the sister college of JNMC Belgaum. The teaching faculty is one of the best. The fees now has been increased which I'm not currently aware about the exact amount.

The academics at KLE JGMMMC are amazing. The professors are really good and they are approachable. They focus on every student and motivate us to study better. The labs are amazing and equipment are new and numerous. There are frequent tests and exams for reviewing our progress of the students. The books used are the standard ones and there are important questions and MCQ which are shared with us. I always wanted to be a doctor and because I didn't perform that well in my NEET I came to a deemed college and now I don't regret it. The admission process was direct. I got the letter of admission from the MCC site and I came to the campus and enrolled myself after paying the fees. We have 3 internal assessments and one final exam. Excluding these there are part completion tests as well. I am in 3rd year now and I do feel like everything we study has practical use.

In 2022 the fees was Rs. 14,40,000 annually. This was for MCC students. For Karnataka State Quota students it was Rs. 7,00,000 annually. There are NRI seats as well but I’m not sure about the amount. There are no other discounts and there are no other hidden fees.

The faculty of every department is very good at KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorusavirmath Medical College and Hospital. In Anatomy we have 5-6 faculty members and they are highly qualified teachers. In Biochemistry we have 5 professors and they are honestly the best teachers. They give amazing notes which contains everything needed. Physiology has 6 professors and an all female departments. They are all very knowledgeable. Microbiology has 6-7 faculty members and they are all highly qualified. Pathology again has 8 faculty members and they are the best teachers and they made me fall in love with the subject. Pharmacy has 6 professors and they also are really good at teaching and provide us knowledge about many different concepts of Pharma Community. Medicine has 8 faculty members and they help us a lot with research prospects and the family adoption program is so well organised by them. Forensics has 4 faculty members and they are interactive with us and go out of there way for showing us interesting cases. I am in 3rd year now so I don't know much about the clinical faculty as of right now.

This is a new college which was started in 2021 and we were the 2nd batch. As of now we don't know how much stipend we will get but seeing the other medical colleges, we are expecting about Rs. 15,000 stipend. We are assuming the internship will be good as the KLE institution is a prestigious one.

Yes, there are residential facilities in our college itself. I am not sure about the total number of rooms right now but in each room there are 2 students and there is attached bathroom. The boy’s hostel has a gym and we have a table tennis table as well. The boys and girls hostels are separate. The mess food compared to other MBBS colleges is really good. We get 4 meals a day which is more than enough. The hostel fee including everything is Rs. 1,24,200. Our in time is 9:30 pm so pretty decent. I honestly love the room structure and maintenance.

The campus we live in is the temporary one. There are 2 blocks as of now. One pre clinical block and one Para clinical block. There are 3 lecture halls in the campus and one in the hospital where we go for postings. The campus size is little small for now but for the future batches; the new campus which is huge will be ready in a year. There are good transport facilities and a small clinic. There is a ground for sports and two shops. One is a juice center and one is a retail store. The library is very good with all books required. The campus is good for now and we are looking forward to going to the new one.

Overall campus life is pretty decent. The college crowd is good; we don't have a toxic senior junior culture. There is no ragging at all and a very safe campus. There are some clubs but I'm not a part of any so I'm not very sure about it. There are quite a few events all round the year; the annual function iris takes up around 2 months which includes a lot of activities. There are celebrations for Ganesh puja, Diwali, Karnataka Rajyothsava and other cultural programs. Our fest name is IRIS which has 4 teams competing. The teams are made of students of all batches for better senior junior interactions. My campus life has been great overall at KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorusavirmath Medical College and Hospital.
