The overall experience in SASTRA University is very good and students can easily adapt with its rules and regulations. Factor that made me choose this university is that its fee structure is very affordable when compared to other universities. It offers very good scope in this department due to its facilities and faculties. The overall value for money and knowledge we gain here is more in this university when compared to others.

I have chosen EEE as my core course due to my interest in field of electronics. It offers good learning experience for this course. The entry requirements for this university are good JEE rank and marks in 10+2 to get into this university. Admission process is transparent and it is based on merit. Frequency of exams is that there will be monthly CIA exams and one semester exam. The knowledge we gain through this course will help in real life due to its aspect and connection it has with real world.

The fee for the selected course is 1,75, 000 per year. Rs. 10,000 for caution fee should be paid at the time of registration. Special scholarship will be provided for students who are poor and need financial help if they secure high grades and CGPA. Mess fee for hostel students will be around Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 4,500 per month.

The faculty members are well versed in their subjects. They have done PhDs in their respective courses. They are highly qualified and skilled faculties who help us to learn in innovative ways of teaching. The facilities use blackboards, PPTs, group discussions, and quizzes to interact with us & to teach us. The problem solving ability is quite high and they can easily solve questions, which might be harder for us. There is one teacher per subject for each class and total strength of students per class is 60. The faculties are approachable within university hours and they clear our doubts without hesitation. They might be harsh sometimes in the way they say but it will make us understand the problem.

There is a quality placement cell present in SASTRA University. It helps students to make them understand about the current trends, what the recruiter needs, the skills they need to develop, and how one should do some extra courses to add into their resume. It conducts various workshops and group discussions to make the students let go fear of interviews and make them confident about themselves. Top companies visited are TCS, Zoho, Capgemini, Cognizant, Philips, Siemens, PayPal, Accenture, and many others. Top package offered is 35 LPA. I have not had any placement experience but from seniors I came to know the quality is high and nearly 90 percent students were placed.

Yes, there are hostel facilities for both boys and girls separately. There are nearly 5 hostels for boys and it has several blocks in it. All the blocks can easily occupy thousands of students. Mess food here is standard and hygienic. It is served thrice a day and snacks in the evening. Hostel fee is Rs. 16,000 for triple sharing room and Rs. 25,000 for single room. Mess food has a timetable and the menu will be followed for each semester. One should be in hostel before 9:30 PM for boys and roll call for girls is within 6:30 PM. My hostel experience is good as I have had good friends and has adapted to hostel food and power cut rarely happens here.

There are different blocks for each department and they are categorized into different schools such as School of electrical, School of Computing, and others. The classroom can accommodate 60 students comfortably and there is projector facility available in the classroom. The library is so huge comprising of 3 floors and contains all the books, which will be useful for our course and department. It has each separate section so one need not get confused to search for their respective books. There are 5 canteens available and the price of food is comparatively low. Auditorium will be used in case of events or other seminars. There are 24/7 medical facilities and there are 3 different grounds for cricket, football, volleyball. My favorite thing is the canteen and the cricket ground in which I will spend half of my time. There are special research centers and training centre, which can be used to develop our skills and it, has new learning opportunities one can build a career on.

The overall campus life is excellent. People come from different states who speak different languages. Classes will happen in English medium. There are different clubs in this university and these club will eventually add value in the resume. I am part of the entrepreneurship club and dash club. These clubs can engage student and build good relationship values, which will foster teamwork and care for one another. The annual cultural fest is Kuruksastra, which will happen in month of April. Technical even is ‘Daksh’ and sports event is ‘Colloseum’. All these events will be fun, engaging, and the technical event will consists of workshops, which will help us to learn new things. I thoroughly enjoy my time in the university and await to learn new things and build my career
