Life at Gurucharan College

Overall Rating
Gurucharan College is the only College in my city which offers my preferable degree that I wanted as it is a govt. college. It is valuable than those private ones. It is very old college and faculties are also good. Even the surrounding around the campus is nice. It is the only reputed college in our city which offers multiple bachelor courses. The fee is not that high which makes it affordable for all.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Bachelor of Science (Statistics) at Gurucharan College and it is four year course. Entry requirements or eligibility criteria totally depends on the cutoff marks. Admission process is done through online process. They have their own website where notices and other things get updated and students have to check it regularly to stay updated with colleges. Teachers are also good in nature and they help all the students in their future opportunities. There are two internals between each semester.
The fee varies department wise at Gurucharan College. The fee for my course is Rs. 7,000 per year. The admission fee for those having low family income varies.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties at Gurucharan College are good in nature and they put their efforts on all students irrespective of being a topper or failure. They teach using blackboards and also some departments have digital boards too. Yes, the teachers are approachable and they try to clear all the doubts of a student. Each department has 5-6 teachers whereas each department contains approximately 60-80 students. Most of the faculties of every dept. has done Ph.D in their respective subjects.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are many blocks and four to five departments that are divided into each block. Campus size is neither too large nor too small and it is located in college road, Silchar, a city of Assam. College has their library where one gets their favorite Books and study without any disturbance. It also has a field where students can play various games. The favorite spot of this college is under a big jackfruit tree where students gossip in their free time.
 

Campus Rating
Gurucharan College organizes various extracurricular activities where all the interested students irrespective of the department can take part. It does not have their own clubs. They organize various fests too in different seasons of a year. They also organize annual sports every year where there are many sports to play and winners get awarded too. My experience in the college has been good if we talk about social interactions.

    I study in Gurucharan college, Silchar commonly known as GC College. It is one of the top ranking colleges in Silchar, Cachar (district of Assam). It provides one of the best forms of qualification. It consists of many courses and departments with highly qualified teachers. I am from Botany department.     I took admission in 2024 and have completed my first semester. I’m currently in 2nd semester. The overall system of the college like its teaching system, canteen, rooms and everything are good. It a government college so affordable for middle class students like me and even provides free admission and teaching to those who are financially weak.
