Gurucharan College Silchar's Commitment to Economically Weaker Sections

Gurucharan College provides good placements, but discipline should be maintained. It is a government college that offers 3 streams namely Arts, Science, and Commerce. It provides courses with lower fee compared to other colleges. It also provides free education to the economically weaker sections of society. Facilities and infrastructure are good. The labs, computers, a library, and a canteen are available. Mobile phones are not allowed on campus.

I have chosen Statistics (Hons.). I opted for this course because it is one of the most desired courses in this college. They should update the syllabus. Events are well planned and executed. Total number of students in our batch are 120. If you want to choose M.Sc after B.Sc, then you need to give GATE exam. You can also go for UPSC. Very reputable and highly paid-jobs are available in this field. The course curriculum is very relevant to making the students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult but can easily be done well by following the lectures and notes provided by professors. Passing percentage is same 33%. Here we have a CGPA system. Above 8 CGPA is considered good for getting domestic PhD.

All the professors here are highly qualified PhDs, knowledgeable and very helpful. The teaching quality is on par with that of foreign universities, and the course curriculum is very relevant to making the students industry-ready. All the professors here are highly qualified (PhDs), knowledgeable, and very helpful. The teaching quality is on par with that of foreign universities. Whenever you ask any doubt, they are always ready to solve it. FYUG course are nice but self-preparation is also important. They teach and explain the topics of subject in a very brief and easy way, making sure the child/student is able to understand and doesn't face much difficulty during the exam.

Placements are not up to the mark.

Hostels in Gurucharan College are well equipped with all essentials, along with 24x7 water & electricity supply & furniture. The hostel provides the best food in this entire town. Final-year students run the hostel. They try to provide the best food and facilities.

Gurucharan College has well developed infrastructure. Our department offer a good Wi-Fi connection all around the campus. All classrooms are good. The departmental library has many books. Canteen food is decent and very much eatable but it depends on the taste of the individual. Medical facilities are available on campus and ambulance services are there for any emergency. Sports and games facilities are amazing here; almost every sport is available to play and grounds for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball and an Olympic-size swimming pool are there, along with a separate sports and gym complex for various indoor games.

I feel proud and thankful to be a part of this college. The thing I like the most is its atmosphere. Teachers are always ready to help their students in every possible way. This college creates so many opportunities for students by organizing other co-curricular activities. It helps students to enhance their abilities. This college has been a great foundation for my career.
